With 12 seconds left, any official explanation as to why we didn't take a shot at the endzone coming out of a timeout?

no timeouts, a sack or tackle in bounds on 3rd down likely results in zero points since you couldn't spike on 4th down to stop the clock and couldn't get the field goal team on in time with clock running.

I was in the stands Saturday and I scratched my head after watching that entire series.

Honestly, the decision reflects a lack of trust in your quarterback's pocket awareness and decision-making (i.e. Les didn't have faith in Jennings to get rid of the ball if a man wasn't open on the play or he thought Jennings might possibly force the ball and cause a turnover.)

If we don't come away from that possession with points, there are more than one thread on this topic on the first page.

Put the game at 4 possessions going into half.

You really don't know the answer to this? At that point there was equal chance of zero points and 6. Take the three and smile in the interview

This. Perhaps with Mett back there you take a shot, but still not super likely.

It was the correct call.

I was ecstatic that we took the FG when we did. They gift-wrapped that possession and we made them pay with 3 points.

It is laughable how so many of you complain about the QB play, then expect the coaches to go for the end zone on a very low percentage play where a LOT of things could go wrong. There could be a sack, INT, a catch in the field of play but not in the end zone, which would likely expire the clock, and a number of other random things. Take the sure 3….go to the locker room way ahead…and cruise to victory.

The simple fact that the coaching staff doesn't have faith in the QBs to make a good decision is evident there, and in the entire offensive scheme. Mett(hell even JJ/JL) take the shot in the end zone or throw it away.

You officially don't know football. It was the right call.

This is a bad thing? At least the coach is aware enough to take the points.

Yep. Many of the posters on here would make Sean Payton's day. Hilarious how so many act like the most succesful coach in LSU history, by far, is a dumbass. He could've taken a shot at the endzone, but why do it? It was the right call.

This.... Miles didn't think taking a crack at the endzone was worth the risk of losing 3 points. A veteran QB may have changed his thinking. I could see us running the play with Mett as the QB.

This is exactly why we kicked on 3rd down.

No confidence in the QB.

before the fg 24-3 3 td's tie it up - fg causes @ least 4 scores or 3 td's & 3 2 point conversions

right call - like putting game out of reach

He took the points. It's all fine. Surely, from the looks of this board, people have more important things to complain about.
