This whole century has been incredible for me. I watched LSU win the NC in 1958 (including personally present when they beat Clemson in the Sugar Bowl Jan. 1, 1959). After that, I saw lots of great LSU teams, but they didn't get there. In the 1990's, I had decided that I would not likely ever see anothe NC. Then came the 21st century. Two NC's and possibly two more back to back. It's all been good this century.

I couldn't agree more!! I love this team and it has been great not worrying about when or if something bad was gonna happen but instead feeling confident that this team has everything under control. Great feeling.

I've been watching them since I was a small fry. Many years of frustration when the Bear would dash our hopes and I would just be sick. I am so proud to be a Tiger fan, and I always have been. Just sit back and enjoy the ride, cause we are going all the way baby!

I'm older than most of the posters around here. Shoot I'm older than most of your fathers or grandfathers.
This the most fun I've ever had with LSU football.
This season is more than fun the 62-0 games against Tulane or the night that Casanova dismantled Archie and Ole Miss.
Thanks to the players. ALL of them and thanks to Les Miles and staff.
No matter how it finishes this is a golden season.
If you can't sit back and bask in the glow you aren't a true LSU fan.

I'm a 2003 fan, but this 2011 team is special , no doubt. They will cement their legacy by going 14-0 !

I'm scared shitless every game because this is so fricking wild. And every game at some point they just kinda say, chill Faxis, we got this.

I love this team.

Our punter and how deep we are at every position is why we win out.

I'm an old guys myself - close to the age of the original poster.

And I agree with him and the rest of the old dudes here.....I've said it before - enjoy it fella's - seasons like this are hard to come by. History, however, says if anyone's going to do it, its the best SEC West team

Every game was won because this team's desire to win, period. No trick plays or a fumble/int late in the game when it looked like the game was over. Besides the Bama game, every game was decided early in the forth quarter.

I know I'm a little late to the party on this thread, but i was telling this to my dad the other day. Every time we get our hopes up we always caution, it takes a lot of luck to win a championship. But this year, we've made our own luck and it's very satisfying.
Plus we've played a really hard schedule. 2 top 5 teams already who weve given their only loses to. This team has earned their number 1 ranking ten fold.

One of the coolest things I've always thought is how that magic just seems to hang in the air in the championship years. It's like you just know your team is gonna win it.

I had that feeling all year from UGA on in 03, all year in 07, after about week 2 with the Saints, and all year with this LSU team. That's why I think it's fun to talk about all the scenarios and don't respond to the people that say "let's wait another week to discuss this", etc. I am 110% sure this team will win the national championship and have been all year long. It's only a matter of time guys and gals. Let's just sit back and enjoy the ride to Jan. 10

I've been around a while too and that 2003 team was something special, 2007 got it done but with some hiccups. This team however comes out and dominates opponents like none I've ever seen. Bama this year may be the greatest show on earth or whatever they want to say, but this LSU team went in there and they weren't leaving without a win. I hate the term "swagga" but this team has it, they take each play personal and they're not going to take being beat on an assignment as an answer. They truly have the want to dominate every single play

I've been a Tiger fan longer. Went to Alabama to watch our Tigers get ripped by the Bear 30-0. Almost had to fight our way our of the stadium, of course me and my friends were sloppy drunk. But this could be our greatest season ever. Minus the sad way our starting QB was mistreated by the arse hatter,

2003 was magical and put it just ahead of the saints winning the superbowl.

To each his own. 2003 was magical, but even through the bad years we all knew that LSU had everything in place to be a something special. It was just a matter of when.

The Saints Superbowl had a city and for the most part a region united because most of us thought that we would never see it in our lifetimes. It was so big that when it did happen, it made us think of people that we wished could have been here with us to witness it, and that night a whole lot of grown arse men cried over a football game.

I was 8 in '58 so I don't remember much about it. In the early 60's I sat there listening to John Ferguson and Walter Hill on the radio every Saturday night, charting every play, at least until I discovered girls and heavy petting. Many older fans told me we'd never win another NC because we didn't have the talent or facilities, we likely wouldn't have until Emmert blew past the Board of Stupidvisors and hired Saban.

The last decade has been amazing and this year will be the greatest ever, maybe for any college team ever. If we go 14-0 no college team will ever have beaten so many ranked teams in one year, ever.

Enjoy it while it lasts, if Les ever goes we might have to start from scratch.

Not just ranked, but top five/top ten.

I mean 2001 Miami was dominant, but who did they play that year? Surely not nearly as many top ranked teams as LSU has this year.

That game between LSU and Alabama was pretty much a National Championship in and of itself.
