Okay, today is Jan. 14, 2014
And 2014 is not over.

Count with me:
Jan, 2008 to Jan, 2009 = 1st year.
Jan, 2009 to Jan, 2010 = 2nd year.
Jan, 2010 to Jan, 2011 = 3rd year.
Jan, 2011 to Jan, 2012 = 4th year.
Jan, 2012 to Jan, 2013 = 5th year.
Jan, 2013 to Jan, 2014 = 6th year.

LSU played in BCS games in January, 2008 & January, 2012.

Hence, TWO BCS games in SIX years.

You really work hard, even to the point of lying, in your efforts to criticize all things LSU. I agree with BHP. There is something wrong with someone who claims to be an LSU fan and yet does that.

Choup, this is the problem I have with many of the chickens little as well as the pumpers. They change the facts to fit their agenda.

Within two successive posts you couched LSU as "THE MOST TALENTED TEAM IN THE NATION, TWO YEARS RUNNING" and then you state other schools have just as much talent as LSU. Which is it?

Probably neither, but we cannot know for sure. settle down, the sun will rise tomorrow.

If you disagree with a draft eligible player leaving early, you aren't being rational. Plain and simple.

It's being selfish. Those players don't owe Les Miles shite. They don't owe any of the fans shite. They owe it to themselves to better their lives. If that's staying another year of college. That's what they should do. If that's leaving early to start earning money. That's what they should do. As much as I'd love these players to hang around as long as they can, it's only because I'm being selfish as a fan.

You are splitting hairs.

We played in the BCS 2 years ago. This year we played in outback and last year chick fil la.

This year - outback
Last year - chick fil a
2 years ago - BCS
3 years ago - cotton
4 years ago - Capital one
5 years ago - chick fil a
6 years ago - BCS

This year usually gets counted as 0 in these calculations.

That is FAR from the only thing you've been laughed at for posting on this board.

Hell, now you've even got the admins making fun of you. That should tell you something right there.

However you look at it, it is the best stretch in the history of the program but the negatigers try to frame it as being bad.

No, he is intentionally phrasing his argument in the least flattering way for LSU. I don't understand it either.

Don't understand the criticism Let me help you out, and all the other posters with their heads in the sand. LSU nearly doubles the rest of college football with early entrees to the NFL in the last two seasons. LSU has not finished in the top 10 in the final poll either of the last two seasons. The perception is that either LSU players overvalue their ability, or that they are that talented, but they are not coached well in college. Sorry guys, but that is the perception around the country. It is NOT a good image to have. Win the titles, and there won't be any ridicule.

Mother fricking this.

The only real discussion he has engaged in is whether to count from 1 or 0 and that Anthony Johnson, Tharold Simon and others contributed less the 2 years of good on the field performance. I'm not feeling it.

LSU finished 2nd two years ago. That's was with a stupid amount of sophomores making major contributions that ended up making the bulk of the largest early entry class in history. That isn't a story

People still saying this are just stupid. We have 16 guys leave early over the last two years. Everyone that keeps throwing out that number count Mathieu and Wing who were both kicked off the team. So really we have had 14 players leave early the last two years. Bama has had 9. 14-9 is not close to being double.

It's definitely a bigger trend now in college football. Even Stanford has players leaving early. So everybody is having to deal with it.

But LSU did lose more players early to the draft last year than the next two highest teams combined (and that's even if you throw out Honey Badger and Honey Wing). LSU tripled Bama last year in the amount of guys that left early. This year, Bama is catching up (I believe they have 5 so far). But even still, adding the numbers up from the last two years, LSU basically doubles Bama. LSU had more than double the amount any other team had last year. They will double most teams this year too, but not all.

You can't blame players for wanting to jump at the chance to make $$$ if it seems likely. Of course, I want players to stay, but it's not my future. People should just be happy that Collins is staying. That's big. Some LSU fans pay big $$ and leave games early then jump on players for leaving early to get $$$. Maybe we should go back to school.

I think a large part of them leaving early is the fan base here. It's not like most other schools whose fan base is pumped up and excited about there team and coaching staff. MOst of them probably had enough of the negative atmosphere that the fan base brings and are ready to get the hell out of Louisiana. Can't really blame them. Stay and play for these people or give it a shot to make your dream come true in the NFL.

Should LSU recruit less talented players in the hope they stay all 4 years?

Ridiculous.

Great recruits get better by playing under other great players. When you lose so many great players, it actually hurts the underclassman. Its much different in basketball. People thinking this is a good thing are idiots.

it's not a good thing. Would be great for us, the fans, if they all stayed 5 years. Dam selfish players, wanting to make a lot of money and live their dreams. What a bunch of A-holes they are. Don't they know we really really want them to stay so we can watch them on TV and feel really good about ourselves the next day after a big victory!

"LSU coaching sucks, and the players leave early to get away from it.

For some reason though, them staying their senior year would've made them better automatically."

Am I following you fellows right?
