Looks like a pretty good endorsement for potential recruits. Few want a degree, they want the NFL.

Collins was arguably the most important one to get back, since his position is much harder to plug and play than the other ones we lost. He came back soooooooooooooooooo

Don't understand the criticism.

Does LSU recruit too well?

Does Kentucky hoops receive criticism for bringing class after class of mostly one and done players in?

Should LSU recruit less talented players in the hope they stay all 4 years?

Ridiculous.

Let me help you out, and all the other posters with their heads in the sand.

LSU nearly doubles the rest of college football with early entrees to the NFL in the last two seasons. LSU has not finished in the top 10 in the final poll either of the last two seasons. The perception is that either LSU players overvalue their ability, or that they are that talented, but they are not coached well in college.

Sorry guys, but that is the perception around the country. It is NOT a good image to have. Win the titles, and there won't be any ridicule.

People still saying this are just stupid. We have 16 guys leave early over the last two years. Everyone that keeps throwing out that number count Mathieu and Wing who were both kicked off the team. So really we have had 14 players leave early the last two years. Bama has had 9. 14-9 is not close to being double.

Plus about half of our guys that left "early" were here for four years anyway.

People still going off about this are seriously stupid.

at anyone trying to spin this in any kind of negative direction I would show that to some of the biggest and baddest recruits in the nation just to show em how full of shite the media is. And ask them what school do you want to attend? One that assures you millions of dollars in an average of 3 years but it is your choice kid and get a top notch degree or go to a school that may get you to the NFL and a 2nd tier degree? Oh plus The greatest fan base, atmosphere and coaches in the NCAA? Well son?? Now when you leave here I have to call the next best guy because its my job but I can't assure you he won't commit? Now I still have spots but pls talk this over with your family, pray and let me know how you feel after. This is LSU son and we need you and want you to be part of our great family here now lets make history!

Did they, or did they not have remaining eligibility to play football? If the answer is yes, they left early. LSU is not the only college football team to have redshirted a player.

Hell, wear that like a badge of honor. Seems to work well being 1 and done for Calipari in basketball. Work within the rules and make sure the kids prosper!

DAMNIT. You're right. Our program sucks. The sky is falling and Miles can't coach because we didn't win every game for the last 2 years despite having 14 players leave before playing 4-5 years at LSU before making millions of dollars. Ahhh let me go stick my head back in the sand.

Every big time Louisiana recruit that thinks they're making a better "business decision" by leaving this state is just straight up wrong.

You might leave for other reasons... but it ain't "business."
