Good shite. I think that was his freshman year and it was at Bama.

It was. One of those plays you just don't forget. It was awesome.

Yep. The only tie the game wasn't in the balance until the very end was UF last year. The 4 losses since have all had game winning drives late in the 4th.

I remember a Chad Jones sack late in the game a few years ago preventing an Alabama comeback. I miss that aggressiveness.

Yeah - what we're doing clearly isn't working. So we might as well send the house (or one more than no one) and hope that we get there or that the QB makes a bad throw because of the pressure. Our guys haven't been good enough to cover anyway by playing read and react. If they're getting the 1st downs anyway, what is there to lose?

The last 4 LSU losses have been almost EXACTLY the same. Starting with bama last year.

Man I wish LSU would just get blown out some more too.

The 2008 defense was ranked decently as well. It makes you wonder just how bad the poorly ranked defenses are.

LSU's defense is very bad. Being #24 doesn't change that. It doesn't rank situational defense such as 3rd and longs.

The 2008 defense was in the 80's, the 2009 defense (Chavis first year) was 29, right now we are 24. We can't make plays on defense and we are weak up front, that is our problem.

Yeah, that was Pelini's D during our NC year.

Now we sit back and read the newspaper on 3rd down.

The defense has played relatively well against rent a wins.

Out of the top 50 teams in total defense, LSU has had the 4th most defensive snaps. We're on the field a lot.

the stats are lying.

259 vs TCU(108)
296 vs UAB(96)
190 vs Kent ST(61)
437 vs Auburn(11)
494 vs UGA(46)
468 vs Moo ST(56)
240 vs UF(114)
522 vs Ole Miss(25)
198 vs Furman

played 3 top 50 offenses and we gave up 1500 yards, and if you included Moo ST almost 2000 yards. Defense gave up two game winning drives in the games we lost.

Alabama has played 2 teams in the top 40 on offense
TAMU 3
Ole Miss 37

The next highest????? Colorado St at #63, Tennessee comes in fourth at #96th

We've played #13 Auburn, #29 UGA(who were a top 10 offense when we played), #37 Ole Miss, and #39 Miss St. Three out of our last four top 40 offenses we have played on the freaking road and have lost by a combined 6 points.

This is pretty encouraging. I think 2008-2012 we've averaged finishing in the 80's. We'll probably take a hit in the UA game but A&M and Hogs will help. I think our O finish will be a good sign of things to come with Coach Cameron.

LSU should put up at least 60-70 points on A&M. Vandy put up 24 Points and did not even have a QB!

Memory and stats. LSU was 32nd in total defense in 2008. 26 in 2009.

2009 seemed better because they were much better coached than in 2008. The players knew where they were supposed to be and what their role was.
