Hard to imagine that we're going to have three "big" linebackers who are all starting-caliber (Beckwith, Garrett, Alexander) for 2 years and not have all of them play somehow...

Kwon isn't big like the other two.

Beckwith was pushing 250 at some point this year and Garrett is 225 as a high schooler.

Kwon is maybe 220, max. But he's a stud and the only one of the three thats really a sure bet to get a good amount of time on the field

True. I wonder if he's fast enough to play WLB. Garrett/Beckwith/Alexander would kill, and if they decide to put Beckwith in the middle instead of Garrett, that group could start opening day instead and we'd be much better for it.

If he was an EE I would say that CG starts day 1. But he's not which means he'll have about a month to learn the system and the team. He'll need more time IMO. Game 5. Around the same time our freshman this year started I assume.

He'll probably see the field most against Auburn and start by Florida.

If Debo and Welter are the starters, we have a serious problem next year.

On second thought, if Barrow is fast enough to play WLB, Alexander definitely is.

Revision...

WLB: Alexander
MLB: Welter
SLB: Beckwith

I think next year Garrett takes over at MLB after some time, like I said earlier. I would love to see if they try Garrett at OLB and Beckwith at MLB if it means they start that group in August though

If Welter starts over Cg this board will destroy itself.

Debo? DEBO?! What have you seen of Debo that makes you want to shite on him? I've seen a guy making plays on special teams and when he's gotten a chance to play defense, he's making tackles in the backfield. He's a little light. That said, he brings NFL speed and quickness as well as a killer instinct.

I can promise you, our fate on defense depends on one thing, and one thing only, our DT's. I'd love to find a replacement for Welter, but it's not so important as DT. And Debo will be an absolute boss next year!

It is rare for Debo to be seen not over running someone on the offensive side of the football. He may make some plays, but I am not at all confident in him stepping into a starting role.

I thought Beckwith would find his way at the Sam this year. Now, I think he'll stay at DE.

Will: Debo
Mike: Welter/Garrett
Sam: Kwon

I'm concerned about our weak-side backers. Debo hasn't had a ton of reps yet, and it'll take time for that position to develop (expect to see others besides Debo get time there).

I have to think that Chief will finally get the LB situation fixed by next year. I totally agree about DT...in fact I was one of the first to point out how bad we were after a few games when we kept getting dominated in the middle...this is the most glaring deficiency on the defense, though not the only one. But I think that the back 7 get worked out soon...but the DL needs help now!

LB's corp is pretty solid minus welter.

We really need the DL situation figured out, like you said. They are hurting the LB's pretty bad.

I think Q. Thomas is going to play a major role next year. Hopefully we get some serious development out of the two deep and three deep this off season.

We need a pass rush and we need a serious push.

If we can get Gerald Willis, that could help a lot. Watching him play live enough, kid is a beast. I've seen him completely change the momentum of the game a few times.

There is not a 'want for success' with our current starters on the line.

Hoping Clifton can come in and start. He shows up around 230 he will already be bigger than anyone else we got.

I think we will have him up around 245-250 by the time the season starts and will still have enough speed to be a dominant player. His athletic ability is off the charts, but it's his football IQ that will allow him to be special early.

Not sure where each person is going to play but I want to see Ronnie Feist and Kendall Beckwith and Debo on the field.
