If the SEC goes to a 9 game schedule then we can't have 4 OOC games, meaning we can't have 4 OOC games at home.

Yeah thought about this two seconds later. Would much rather drop one of these OOC games for another SEC game imo.

This is true. We drop Towson for sure if this is the scenario

In the meantime, take a look at our 2012 SEC football schedules as they are today. Several ’12 schedules had already been finalized, including Georgia, Kentucky and Ole Miss. All 14 SEC schedules will be updated as soon as they are released.

But none of them have ATM or Mizzou so I'm calling shenanigans

Our out of conference schedule next year leaves something to be desired but it's pretty standard across the board with other major football programs. Our ooc this year was an exception to normal rather than what should be expected in the future. Most schools would never take the risks we did this year. Bama deserves credit for their ooc scheduling as does LSU. The only times in the future where we'll have 2 dangerous ooc games are in years where we already have 1 "major" ooc scheduled and then we add on one of the 1st game "classics" like the Oregon game this year. Most years will be like next year. 1 major conference opponent and 3 scrubs with at least 2 of those in most years being instate schools. Home games bring in the dough so they will continue in the future.

I also think a lot of people are severely shortchanging Washington next year. Sarkisian has had 3 full years of recruiting his players and they have some talent. It's at LSU so some of the fear is lowered but they're dangerous if we don't play well.

I hope it stays at 8 conference games. That way everyone plays the same number of home and away games. There are already enough scheduling inequalities due to the permanent cross division opponent, some teams having 5 home games while their competition only has 4 could compound the problem.

Not to mention going to 9 games would probably make good OOC matchups more difficult to schedule. Most teams want/need 7 home games for their budget and if you have 5 conference road games it means all of your OOC games would have to be at home that season. It would take away the flexibility schedule makers currently have.

, Sep 01 North Texas Baton Rouge, La. (Tiger Stadium) TBA

Sat, Sep 08 Washington Baton Rouge, La. (Tiger Stadium) TBA

Sat, Sep 15 Idaho Baton Rouge, La. (Tiger Stadium) TBA

Sat, Sep 29 Towson Baton Rouge, La. (Tiger Stadium) TBA

Fri, Nov 23 Arkansas * at Little Rock, Ark. (War Memorial Stadium) 1:30 p.m.

I can see us being 4-0 going into the Arkansas game but that two month layoff has me worried.
