I'd see it as a failure. At that point, Les would have had 1 SEC championship in SEVEN years and only 2 West titles in that time. Given how much he's paid and his contract, plus the talent level of his team, to only have 2 SEC CG appearances in 7 years, and only 1 in the past 6 which would've been 4 years earlier, he'd be failing.

People will say that's expecting too much, but Les is paid to win titles, not just games.

BCS bowls don't count?

2008 and 2009 were pretty shitty though. You can thank Perriloux (and the 2005 recruiting class, thank you Saban for oversigning ) for that.

That'd be some feat in itself.

WTF does this mean? Is somebody giving away recruits to coaching staff? You must be thinking about those other tigers.

Well, since LSU has 10 SEC titles from 1932 and 4 west titles from 1992, you must think LSU is pretty much a "complete failure" overall in football, huh.

Well, of course we're all entitled to our opinion- but creating impossible scenarios in order to display comtempt towards Miles doesn't do much to further your arguement.

Anything less than a trip to Atlanta or a BCS game this year is not acceptable. LSU should accomplish one of these one out of four years. Cotton and Cap One ain't gonna cut it.

According to whom? Surely you don't believe that with the schedule LSU has, if they finish with 11 wins Miles will be run out of town, right? Or should we just dissolve the football program altogether?

Its not hard to imagine this team being much better and still only going 9-3.

This seems the most likely outcome. I doubt that the QB play will allow anything better, but hope I am completely wrong.

That would likely mean Bama just won 3 out of 4 West Titles and maybe 2 out of 3 SEC Championships. Les has won alot of games but that would mean 4 years with no titles of any kind. LSU hasn't come up clutch in an SEC game with West Title implications in a while. At that 4 year point people would question if Les can win titles now that the program has his fingerprints 100% on it.

I agree that a lot of the LSU faithful would see it much the same as you have described.

11-2

I would say the chances of going 11-1 or 10-2 are actually much higher than winning it all, to be honest.

Has Miles ever lost less than 2 games in any season? And those seasons were with more talent and less comp and a better schedule.

Always want the NC, but 11-2 is not bad!

there is a good chance that the SEC west is going to come down to the Bama game, which I think is a toss up. If we win the SEC west, I think we win the SEC, if we win the SEC we win the NC.

I would like someone to explain to me the difference between a 10-2 Cap.One team or an 8-4 Cap.One team. Its not a BCS or Sec Championship either way. If we don't win the west 1 in 4 seasons then its not acceptable to pay Miles what he makes.

Ask Nebraska what happens after you start bitching about 9-3 seasons and your coach gets fired

11-2 or 10-3 would be a great year with this schedule. Reasons: Only 6 home games, some areas on this team we have a tremendous amount of talent in the younger players but very little experience, we have had to replace Shepherd, Nevis, Peterson, and Riddley(Quite a talented and experienced bunch). The other problem: Dare I mentioned the starting qb.

BCS bowls count as bowls. They aren't titles except to people who like to feel good about themselves. There are 10 freaking BCS bowls now and 2 SEC teams will almost always make it. I am sorry that while I appreciate making a BCS bowl, it is an overrated "event" to me when you're beating an overrated Notre Dame team.

Les is a good coach, but he'll always have an excuse for some with the only legitimate one being 2005 and the hurricanes.

2006 is blamed on Fisher and now Saban oversigning
2008 Perriloux and Malveto's fault
2009 Perriloux's fault
2010 Crowton's fault :casty:

Alway's an excuse for Les. I don't expect LSU to win a title every year, but I do expect them to be in the SEC Championship game at least once every 3 years.

It's called being given basically anything he wants as resourdces. His position coaches are some of the highest paid in the history of the game, and we are now paying a QB coach $750,000/year.

During the DiNardo years, he couldn't even keep Carl Reese because LSU refused to let him pay Reese more. That led in part to the Tepper hiring, so yes, Les has much more resources than his predecessors coming in.

We loose 2 perhaps 3. Way tougher schedule this year, defense will be a bit weaker in the middle with the qb of the defense, sheppard gone.
