Assuming that it's good of course

Part of protection is scheme

Letting Copeland wiff on middle linebackers coming up the middle doesn't work out so well

I don't know man, that's a little heavy on the wallet for me

SU's offense needs a dual-threat qb or at least, just a qb that can actually run for 4 - 5 yds or scramble.

Why?

mett does not provide ANY RUN THREAT... NONE at all and defenses know that.

Neither do Peyton Manning or Tom Brady, but they're pretty good despite that

johnny football and mett are WORLDS apart with movement.

Hearing Bolden and Randall won't be around next year, so dual threat ain't happening.

Mett does sometimes make ridiculous, NFL level throws.

But the fact remains that all the other plays, mobility, leadership, etc is why he's the 12th-rated QB in the SEC and the 6th rated QB in the State of Louisiana in terms of passer rating. And because he's a one-dimensional QB, Mett must live and die by his passer rating.

Oh, and almost all of those other SEC QBs are back next year.

I'll bet my bank account. As Bugs Bunny would say, "what a maroon"! Is Peyton Manning a run threat? How about Eli? Seen Drew tuck it and run a lot? The offensive line is the problem, not the quarterback.

If Mett went to aTm you'd be right. JFF doesn't go to LSU last time I checked the roster.

You guys are a fricken joke. Mett has started a total of 13 games as a FBS QB. The expectations by this fan base before the start of the season was un realealistic. Mett is going to be fine and go into the NFL after his senior season. Mett will have an much improved senior season now that he understands the speed of the game and preperation for the game at this level. We could have a JFF, Robert Griffen etc.... type qb play and the first time that QB under performs LSU FANBASE will throw him under the buss. OPs like you are a bunch of little bitches who probably have higher expectation on the LSU program that you set for yourself.
Prior to the Bama game we saw on this board that Mett was mediocre, Bama game and following, this board returned to him as the Messiah. Last few games back to normal and this board throwing him under the buss. Chicken and those guys should start banning people like you for the ignorance that you guys bring to this board.

We don't need a mobile QB we need an decent online.

We return a ton of experience on the oline next year, and that will pay major dividends.

If you didn't see improvement in Metts game last year idk where you were looking.

So you think a true freshman in Anthony Jenning will start. All the other QBs we'll have are considered not to be very mobile at all.

The problem with our offense is simple. We need a REAL offensive coordinator and Miles needs to let him call the plays. You can't have 3 people running an offense. I can sit in my chair and predict 1/2 the plays by the formation. Mett can be great, but not in our current offense. It has to change.
