Where do you see donnie alexander listed at 6-2 225 lbs? just curious

I see him adding adequate weight by 2016....not next year, but two years from now.

Some can do it, some can't. I have no proof to show that he could. I just did it because it's an ideal weight for his position.

Kwon is up to 230 now.

He is small even by college standards and by pro standards, way too small to be an NFL LBer.... not even remotely close

Kwon Alexander - 6'2 227lbs.

1st round pick and #1 LB in NFL according to PFF, CJ Mosley - 6'2, 234lbs.

#2 tackler in NFL this year, Lavonte David - 6'1, 233lbs.

#3 tackler in NFL this year, DeAndre Levy - 6'2 235lbs.

Bobby Wagner - 6'0 240lbs.

I could do this all day long. Now, LBers need to be able to move laterally and run in space. Kwon can do that. His size isn't the issue that it would have been 10years ago. The game is about speed and athleticism now. Kwon has that. I'm not saying he's a 1st or even 2nd rounder. He's a mid round pick but he will outplay his draft status and will be a good NFL LBer... Way more than "just a special teamer."

This...not sure why people are adamant that he's not an nfl lb and that he's too small. We have some real idiots on here.

He plays around 220, if he wants to declare early he will not be drafted until late. Dont believe everything you see on a roster report we post. He even LOOKS small, which means nothing in college, but NFL teams want a filled out LBer. There's no reason for him to declare early. He wouldnt get drafted early, even if at all, till the very late rounds.

Almost every lb that goes pro gains weight/muscle when they get to the nfl. 220 lbs for an OLB in college is perfectly normal. He would get drafted in the mid rds which may be his ceiling, so there is definitely a chance that he goes pro.

He would not get drafted in the mid rounds this year, 6th-7th.

That's your opinion and you're entitled to it, but don't make it sound like fact. He's 220+ right now coming off of 2 good years. Hopefully he comes back

They can be stacked at RB's, WR's,DB's and still recruit 3 or 4 at each position and only go after 1 or 2 LB's knowing we're thin at that position.

We do have a couple LB's coming up from Red shirt to enter the rotation. But here are the main reasons:
1) We play the 4-3 D, so we only use 3 LB's.
2) Chavis likes to run his Mustang package which removes one LB and another DB comes in.
3) We use Smaller faster OLB's.
4) We do like to use a prototypical 6'2-6'4 230-250 lbs. at MLB.
5) However, the reason we do recruit more LB's than is necessary is the rotation and special teams. Guys who are Fast, have good hands, are still big and strong enough... Makes for some bone crushing hits on special teams.
6) Nothing to do with LB's, but LSU is one of the few teams in College or NFL that actually use their skill, most experienced, or best players on Special teams. That's why we do so well on special teams.
