This was a legitimate thread with some of the most idiotic responses I have ever seen. I live in Lafayette, and I have also officiated high school football for 32 years. I have seen a lot of the talent first hand. There are some good players in the area and some have gone on to play at the next level (ie: Alley Broussard, Kevin Faulk, Jake Delhome, Travin Dural, Br'Kiethen Mouton, etc) What you have in this area is superior coaching. I think the best in state: Ted Davidson, Acadiana, Louis Cook, Notre Dame, Crowley, Rayne, Mike Mowad, Breaux Bridge, Jim Hightower, St. Thomas More, Sonny Chapantier, Tuerlings, Brent Indest, Catholic of New Iberia, Ernie Hudson, New Iberia High School, Doug Dotson at Comeaux High School, and other coaches that unfortunately that I can't remember their names. Coaching plays a huge role at the high school level and in the Acadiana area, we are blessed with many of them.

It is the continuing cycle of a culture of self doubt, inferiority and penis envy.
This thread itself is symptomatic of this cultural malady.
The disease always expresses itself most fully in the fall months, when the youngest male sufferers of the condition begin to make silly and outrageous comparisons of ULL to LSU, in an earnest plea for attention, if not help.
Its not a pretty thing to watch...

Deege , you don't understand.
These are not BAD athletes.
They are not all bad people. After all, everybody wants to fit in.
But these poor Lafayette people are just overwhelmed by feelings of inferiority and self doubt.that's what this thread demonstrates.
I hope others will help these folks overcome this massive cultural self doubt.
The people of Lafayette Parish can be every bit as great and productive as the residents of any other parish in the whole State of Louisiana.

You listed 5 players for 32 years. WM had 5 guys on LSU's roster at one point in the late 90s/early 00s.

Meh... Breaux Bridge HS (6 miles from Lafayette) had 3 players on LSU's roster THIS year.

Every school in Lafayette Parish has produced at least one NFL player. Not counting Ascension Episcopal.
