Are you including New Iberia etc in that Lafayette Metro?

I'm not including anything.

I just put what the Lafayette Metro and Shreveport Bossier Metro were.

I don't make up what the areas included are.

But over the last 150 years they've been cross-breeding with Cajuns and ruining their gene pool.

Lafayette High and Comeaux just don't produce a lot of talent. Acadiana, Carencro, and Northside produce talent, but can't get a lot of it eligible.

pretty comparable actually. Shreveport the city may be bigger than the city of Lafayette but the Lafayette Metro Area is bigger than the Shrevport-Bossier Metro Area.

No it's not. Not even close. Lafayette is pretty small.

The US Census Department disagrees with you.

Lafayette, Louisiana metropolitan area - 479,116
LINK

Shreveport – Bossier City metropolitan area - 447,000
LINK

Last I checked 479,000 was a larger number than 447,000.

So yeah, its close. Lafayette Parish alone has 221,578 almost a quarter of a million people and growing by the day.

Since Breaux Bridge appears to be included in this argument and someone went all the way back to Craig Nall for Alexandria. Here's some of the players from Breaux Bridge who went on to play College or Pro Football since the late 90's (I'm probably leaving some out):

Jake Delhomme (ULL, Saints, Panthers)
Domanick Davis-Williams (LSU, Texans)
Jesse Daniels (LSU)
Jonathan Zenon (LSU-SECCG saving Pick 6)
Charles Alexander (LSU)
John Williams (LSU)
Kavahra Holmes (LSU)
Travin Dural (LSU)
Lamar Louis (LSU)
Quentin Thomas (LSU)

Chark attended ASH as freshman, then Winfield as soph. Returned to ASH as junior and senior.

I think he's referring to the fact that the Lafayette Metro Area now has 485k people compared to S'ports 445k. Lafayette is now the 3rd largest metro in the state and approaching top 100 in the nation at 108th. I won't criticize Shreveport the way you did Lafayette. It's pretty obvious what your issue is.

The MSA is based on commuting patterns primarily. The MSA includes Iberia but not St Landry. It's all about where people work.

It is bigger than Monroe and about the same size as Shreveport. Both of those city produce more recruits. Even lake Charles often manages to produce more talent.
More whites per capita. Have to get more brothers out there.
