Mannings are not real LA people. Also, we signed the #1 QB in the country the year Peyton came out in Josh Booty. At the time, we would not have even wanted him. Booty was the golden boy.

The truth is what we don't want to admit - the boys that have left for Bama hurt the most - Cam Robinson, Landon Collins, and about to continue with a few tomorrow and a huge one next year. These sting as they are not anomalies. Saban has proven that he can get our very best player almost ever year. Stings that it's our biggest rival. Honey badger admitted that if Bama had offered him up front, he would have committed.

I'm not sure how we overcome this and it really sucks.

LSU wanted Marshall Faulk as a DB. He wanted to play RB. SDS was one of the only schools to offer him a chance to play RB. Rest is history!!!

I'm going with my Brother Martin brothers: Ward Manuel, Rod West, and Mike Stant. We did get Tommy Clapp who will be providing us a pipeline of "big uglies" for years to come!

This is a Saban problem more than a Bama problem. He keep his louisiana connections tight

Losing a guy in the 90s that never was coming here (Peyton Manning) or guys to schools in different conferences when the team wasn't sniffing SEC titles vs losing a player to your biggest rival who became a major contributor on a team that won a title.

So obvious

20/20 hindsight tends to make things very obvious. He went to San Diego State because NO ONE, including his dream school Miami saw him as a RB.

I see this snowballing into the "(Insert NFL Player from Louisiana) that didn't go to LSU" Thread.

Damnit people - I posted this earlier in the thread hoping I wouldn't be right.

Enlighten me on who we are losing to Bama tomorrow? Carter? That blow doesn't hurt too bad we are stacked in this class and the previous class.

A lot can happen a year from now you shouldn't rush into assuming a recruit will go to a school a year from now. (Great example is Lowell Narcisse).

judgung by what their career became. You could argue that McKnight was the biggest "we were crying over THAT guy?" In lsu history

Janzen Jackson, Luther Davis, Trovon Reed, like 5 different Evangel guys in the 90's, and a many more had more pointless meltdowns.

Still blows my mind. Hindsight and all of that, but I can't imagine he didn't show enough to recruiters in high school to convince them that he would be AT LEAST a pretty good RB.
