From what I've seen, I think Dupree is an excellent comparison to Pollard.

If he produces anything like Ron, he would be a great signing.

He's longer than Ronald right?

He's a little taller and longer, but similar style.

Just mean that he may be a more ideal 4 than Ronald was.

And damn, that would make us quite an athletic club.

More athletic than we've been in quite some time.

Get Pollard and Odoh and we go deep into the tournament this year. I'm stunned.

Yeah, I'm doubtful he has the ups that Ronald has, but he was very close to Dominique Wilkins.

That said, the length will help make him more "ideal" or traditional as a 4. Ronald used his freakish hops to defend taller players, but jumping puts you out of position.

No doubt Ronald had the best ups of any player I can remember on an LSU roster.

Aren't we also a named finalist for the Colombian big?

Thank god for basketball recruiting news of any kind, much less the continuing great news.

I distinctly remember him blocking at least 2 elbow jumpers at their apex. He's quite possibly the most underrated player in LSU basketball history. He put up MVP-caliber numbers two straight years and was selected second team All-SEC both times.

quote:

During his sophomore season he led the SEC in scoring at 17.3 points per game and was second in rebounding with 8.8 per game. In each of his last three years he ranked second in the SEC in rebounding with averages of 8.8 (2000–2001), 8.5 (2001–2002), and 8.3 (2002–2003) RPG. He also never finished lower than seventh in the league in scoring in his final three seasons. He finished his LSU career as the school's eighth most prolific scorer and sixth best rebounder.

Was never selected First Team All-SEC....

Trocha hasn't named any finalists, or really even favorites. He really hasn't named anything.

Ponamsky was saying earlier the Colombian guy had us on his list. He definitely didn't call him trocha. Used some other name. There are no other Colombian recruits huh?

And to think, at this point most top basketball recruits have named at least one child...

It's definitely Tony Trocha. There is a list of schools that are recruiting him heavily and LSU is on that list. However, nothing has come directly from Trocha saying who he likes and is considering. He is working on getting eligible for 2012 first, then will likely make a list of schools to visit.
