Are the results posted on milesplit? And the Lewis kid from Shreveport area who signed with lsu isn't some slouch either.... Sure it's not the kid at Baylor but I digress... Would love to see the results.

There is nothing wrong with a legit 10.92 FAT time and he will do well at the next level.

LSU is not in his top 10. JHS coach said an LSU assistant told Travis that he'd be better off at another school because Coach Miles plays favorites and he made promises to play Lanard Fournette and one of our RB commitments is personally very close to Miles' son and family and that both those guys, along with Guice would be ahead of him in 2017. JHS coach was really blown away that an LSU assistant would say something like this to a recruit.

Miles is making a big mistake with this kid because Saban wants him bad. I'm told Saban is putting the full press on him.

Does he have an actual offer from LSU? I've read he does not.

He clearly points out at the very top of his top ten in nice bold letters

quote:

Top 10, able to change with new offers!

I don't know how often a recruit releases a top 10 and emphasizes able to change with new offers. I have seen many say in no order, or can change.. but I found that very interesting for him to state this.

quote:

The first part of this sounds so ludacris. I could see this being something misunderstood. It also sounds very opinionated.

Any ways, so guys ahead of a true freshman would most likely play more? Guice is a top rb and will be a Junior.. He's probably going to be ahead in what might be his final season here.. If this guy Etienne is ahead of the others from a playing standpoint he will see action as a Freshman. Before Fournette, Miles was extremely big on RB by committee. Also, he names Alabama his leader. They already have 2 rbs committed ranked well ahead of him. (not that rankings mean anything) Just pointing out that they got 2 highly rated rbs already on board.

quote:

JHS coach was really blown away that an LSU assistant would say something like this to a recruit.

Which assistant though? Isn't the word around that Juluke really likes Etienne?

All of this speculation and rumor stuff is based off a guy who claims to know someone very close to the situation.. but even at that.. there can still be misunderstandings. We've seen it time and time again. It just sounds so ridiculous to be accurate.

quote:

Travis Etienne of Jennings' (La.), 5’11”, 199 lbs – is being evaluated by the [LSU] staff for a potential offer, is ranked as the No. 18 running back prospect in the class, named Alabama his leader following an offer from the Tide, but admitted things could change if Juluke and LSU got into the mix with a scholarship.

I believe LSU is really trying to get a read on the RBs they are in pursuit of and only wanting to take 2-3. I just watched Etienne's tape and I was impressed. ESPN does not even have him in their top 50 (I much prefer 247), yet they have Patrick Queen at 29. He deserves it I am sure, but I see him playing LB next level. Especially with us.

Really looking forward to seeing this class come together.

Let me guess, the coach can't or won't name the assistant because this shite is completely false.

I have some family that are faculty at JHS. I doubt this happened. We are both big LSU fans, I probably would have heard about it.

I do know that LSU hasn't offered and they are not in his "top 10," I'm not sure an offer would put him in top 3 anyway ... My gut feeling says that I think he has his mind made up already so an offer wont do any good at this point.

But you never know. I would like to see him play at LSU. I've always thought he was too small and their competition they play at Jennings isn't that great, but I would like to be proven wrong. He has gotten bigger and he did tweak something at the state meet a few weeks ago, so his showing wasn't very good.

It didn't happen or there was a major miscommunication.

I am interested to hear more from Bullhoundtiger

I live in Jennings, and and this came directly from Coach's mouth. It happened.

When Travis was directly asked if he would consider LSU if they offered he said "No." That doesn't mean he can't change his mind but that is what he is saying right now. I know more about this kid's recruitment than anyone on this board. Trust me. Everyone in Jennings is hoping Travis goes to LSU but right now it's not looking like a possibility. Virtually every school in the SEC has offered him except LSU. It's perplexing.
