Beckwith's film is awesome. Kinda surprised he is ranked ahead of Tim Williams though. Although, not by much. Both top 100 players. Bama is on Williams. Beckwith fits LSU's system perfectly, he'd be crazy going anywhere else. Once he sees Mingo decapitate someone this season, he'll have no choice.

5 safeties in the top 50. A good class of safety's in a year LSU needs safeties. With one already committed and in the running for a few others. Landon Collins can have fun in Bama if we end up with three elite guys there. This is shaping up to be redonkulous

I think rivals has terrible local coverage. I don't think they evaluate Louisiana prospects fairly enough.

ESPN is a joke still. They have name recognition but their recruiting coverage is not that great.

I like scout's local coverage a lot more. I have been a subscriber to both rivals and scout and scouts local coverage is worlds better.

The up and comer 247 looks to probably rise to the top soon enough. If they get a decent local louisiana recruiting product going. That is where my money will go.

I look at all of these sites and gather my own info about prospects. No one site is clear better than the others overall.

Rivals does have pretty good national coverage overall. I am just more interested in having great local coverage.

Great analysis. I also have TSD on Scout and it's the scope of coverage is incredible. Scout and 247 will own the market once people see through Rivals BS and realize all the evaluators that made Rivals Rivals are now at 247 doing work. I also like BBI for content. Rivals and ESPN sucks at content and local knowledge.

Recap
Rankings: Scout, 247
Content: Scout, 247, BBI
Sucks at Everything: ESPN, Rivals

Good post by you and the person you responded to. My utter disdain for Rivals has been described too many times so I will not go there again but even with my dislike for them I still look at their rankings and read the articles because they do have some good qualities and info from anywhere is better than no info. I also keep the hope that they get their shite together but I don't expect it.

To the poster who commented that 247 doesn't have a long history or established footprint yet, On the surface that is correct but the reality of the situation is that they already have a footprint and a major impact on the recruiting world. Rivals popularity and success is based on the hard work and vision of the people that make up 247. The 247 guys have already earned the respect and trust they receive from recruiting junkies with the unparalelled success they had with Rivals.

I hate to say it but Beckwith and Tim Williams would be killer OLBs in a 3-4. Those 2 and Melvin Jones all fit the bill of 3-4 LBs.

Hopefully we can get all 3, assuming we offer Jones.

Melvin jones would be a nice MLB. He's built like Lionel Turner.

Yea, I miss having a bigger guy like KS11 holding down the middle. We just missed out on a guy with similar size from north La that wanted to play in a 3-4 though.

Are Beckwith and Williams both small side DEs, similar to Montgomery in our defense?

I think Williams is kinda a blend of Mingo and Montgomery. More physical than Mingo but not as long/fast; Not as big and physical as Montgomery but quicker. For those saying he can be a 3-4 OLB, I think that would be forcing him into the wrong fit. He is best with his hand on the ground.

Agree with the point about Williams and his hand on the ground. Not sure he'll ever be big enough for Jack LB in the Bama system. Those guys lately are pushing 265-270. Same thing I thought about Adrian Hubbard. That guy looked special in the UA game and he was completely raw as a SR in high school. Long and thin.

Who gives a shite.. Their most credible scouts bolted for 247, especially the ones who would even sniff Louisiana

This 247 site has 12 Louisiana guys in their Top247. Doesn't Rivals have 13 Louisiana guys in their initial Top-250???
