I was just saying he is more RB than H back. Kid can run, and like all kids coming out of HS he hasn't reached his full peak as for as getting stronger and faster. So, he may just out run defenders once he gets past them in the open field. But I don't really care to keep elaborating any further on someone that probably won't be at LSU anyways.

So if we took 3 RBs before he chose to commit, who really dropped who?

Actually, we took four in recent days. Three for '18 and one for '19.

No surprise there, never really wanted to be a Tiger because if so he would be.

I really do hope that Franklin gets qualified and we can add him late. He would probably be our best back if he comes in. GT

I thought I saw on this board where someone said he magically was open to other positions than RB immediately following attending Bama camp.

A) Am I remembering correctly?
B) Is that confirmed somewhere other than this board?
C) Is that why staff gave AJ Carter the offer

As it pertains to (c), maybe the cause and effect everybody is assuming is backwards. The assumption is LSU was dropped by him for taking verbal from Carter. Maybe LSU went ahead and pulled trigger on Carter because of info from/following Bama camp.

A) you are remembering correctly
B) SEC country article from FOUR days ago where he said LSU is still his top school LINK
C) No Idea. My hunch is that the staff is wanting to make sure in-state guys are definite takes before offering, whereas with out of state guys they might not mind offering guys they're not 100% on and process them later if better guys come along. I think that's why they were so adamant about in-state guys going to the LSU camps before getting an offer.

Along the lines of athlete vs RB, I think LSU was only atop his list because he wanted to play RB more than attend school at Alabama or Auburn. Now Joiner's attitude has changed and he's open to other positions, so it's natural that we fell by the wayside. And I think it's just convenient timing for him to drop us right after taking Curry and Carter. Probably not a coincidence that he just visited Alabama. I'm sure they helped him make that decision.

Good by to an obvious troll. We are not waiting to end up with an empty running back class. He was never coming or he does not want to compete. Buh by!

Looking like with provens we might lose bolden and valentine.. he might be on watch to not hang around tho so keep an eye on it. Bolden seems to still be a chance but tcu might be the leader now. And valentine seems to be out with provens as of right now

Could've committed at any time. You want to be at a school so bad take your spot. Don't wait for "your moment" or special day. Go ahead and take your spot. Love how this staff is handling this

I agree with this statement. He could have committed months ago, or even now if he wanted to if he really wanted to be here. He just thought he could commit at any time and have a special day to make it all about himself. Should have been like the other 3 RBs we just signed. If you really want to be at LSU, commit as soon as possible, and go on with your life. I really like Harold Joiner as a player, but there isn't ANY football player that's above the program. None. It stinks, but we'll move on. It'll be a win win. We have our RBs we like, and Joiner will be good regardless which school he chooses.

I do not know he young man, but because he might have played hard to get or commit on a national stage he lost out.
I hate to lose him, but I will take kids who are ready to commit to become a Tiger

Too f**king bad! Joiner didn't hurry up his recruitment! He could have committed already! These players who want to play the game of waiting are at risk of losing their spot! Right now, LSU is popular. The prospects are liking the new coaching staff and the coaches can't wait for someone who won't decide when they have found players who are talented (even if they are only 3 stars) and are willing to get on board. The coaches wouldn't offer if they didn't think the player can ball!

Are you just that dumb? You think we would really just take RB's just to take them?

MAYBE THAT IS TRUE BUT LOOK AT BAMA WITH THEIR HISTORY OF TALL RB'S, travis henry, bo scarbourough and others at bama. they may have knee problems but usually doesnt happen at bama so im all for getting a tall running back at lsu to beat bama. but a good bruising back to beat bama. leonard was 6ft 1inch so was jeremy hill. joiner is just a couple inches taller.

any chance lsu takes another rb for 2018 class? got 3 of them right, curry, carter, and a guy that plays wr abd rb that only weighs like 175lbs, so any chance lsu takes in another bad arse rb or some bad arse wr, i remember seeing some target wr lsu had sights on, had bad arse hands and good size and can out jump just bout anyone. what do they need most? i see maybe some really good 4 or 5 * rb, a bad arse wr, or cb that is 6ft 2 or taller. btw how many can lsu take for 2018? lsu is rolling with the recruits committing for 2018. im not a bit worried bout they only 3* they will get re evaluated once season starts. and if they stay a 3* so be it, canada and aranda can develop those guys looking very much like 4 and 5* athletes at their respected positions. i want to see coach Oeaux bring an sec title to baton rouge and a national title to baton rouge in 2018. need it now while aranda is still at lsu. keep aranda in br

PSA: It's Coach O or Coach Eaux

Oeaux has one too many vowels.

unfortunately, there's only 2ea 5* RBs this year, both already committed (White to UGA, Lingard to Miami). Down year for RBs as a whole, in LA. That's why Akers last year hurt so much (and his recruiter got fired).

WRs 6'2"... we're in the mix. Marshall at top of list. Is Eagles still a possibility? Dunno. I'm assuming we're still on Devonta Jason. K. Jones is a big one, physically and as a commit. LSU doing pretty good on WRs.

CB... Surtain. Yes, others. Looks like Cook to tOSU. Kelvin Joseph!!! Campbell, maybe in mix (trust in The Raymond). But Surtain.

yes, discussed ad nauseum here. I'm guessing 2ea 3* end up 4*, and that's without any big suprises and truly under the radar guys. So 1 more might be in the cards, might not.

ETA: worth noting that if LSU were to reel in Surtain Jr. and Marshall that's about our average for 5* a year.
