Realistically I say 8 wins this year. Next year should be the year. We will be absolutely loaded in 2018. But we live and die by the defense this year. They will be the reason for 8 wins or 10. The offense will be fine. Qb, rb, and skill positions are great. It's all on the defense

I think this sounds realistic if everything goes well and I agree that it all hinges on the defense. I still can't believe how bad Texas has been on that side of the ball. Too bad for me to buy the 10 wins. Not yet. That defense needed a heart transplant. Complete psychological makeover. They remind me of watching the Saints defense.

When they start fielding top 10 defenses let me know.

Herman sucks, hasn't even had a top 10 defense at Texas yet.

Glad we stuck with the DL coach everyone else wanted

Hard to have one when you haven't had a season yet.

If you aren't in the top 5 in recruiting statistically you aren't winning the NC

We also just passed Texas. Like I said earlier, we have many three stars that are going to get bumped up.

Cameron Wire, Micah Baskerville, Nelson Jenkins, and Jamarcus Chatman will be finishing as 4 stars minimum based on camp performances and offer list alone. Adam Anderson and Kelvin Joseph have a very good shot at being 5 stars by the end of the recruiting process.

Some food for thought, Tredavious White at this point in his recruiting process was rated at 3 stars. He finished as a 5 star.

So what? Texas being good only helps LSU. UT is Aggy's problem not ours.

...and the other 4 schools with top 5 recruiting classes in those years, were not NC winners. So a top 5 class gets you a 20% chance of winning the NC?.?.?..

Not sure that probability checks out.

First, Texas SHOULD have a top 10 class every year. It's the biggest school in a talent rich state, great tradition, money , and alumni.
Myth. Texas was NEVER a dominant recruiting force until Mack Brown got there

Your subject line leads absolutely everyone to believe teans have passed Texas and Penn State in recruiting. Basic English shouldn't be so hard.

How old are recruiting rankings (circa 2000 or so)? Also, Texas is back up to 3.

Anyways, if youre landing top 10 classes, youre fine. Yes, top 5 classes are elite, but schools that win championships tend to have elite classes. Correlation more than causation imo. Bama certainly wasn't pulling in no.1 classes before their first recent natty.
