Per ESPN: Storm Update
quote:
Storm Johnson has a few programs on his mind Big ESPNU 150 Watch List running back Storm Johnson is currently holding 15 scholarship offers, according to affiliate Web site NoleInsider.com. When asked to name a few schools he'll focus on, Johnson replied, "I know Florida State definitely, Oklahoma, Florida, LSU, Tennessee, Auburn, and USC," Johnson said. "There is a lot of them that I'll have to sit down and get involved with. Right now I'm pretty wide open because I haven't visited enough schools and I haven't sat down with my family. I'm still pretty open for every college and junior college." Johnson, who rushed for 1,300 yards and 21 touchdowns last fall at Buford, Ga., hopes to make a decision during his senior season and then enroll early after participating in an all-star game.

Went to my high school. And left to transfer to Loganville because he wants to get 30 to 40 carries a game which he wasn't gonna get at Buford. I have also heard he has some "character" issues. But I have never met the kid some im not speaking from first hand experience.

Very good looking RB prospect. Explosion through the hole is the one area he needs to work on, but he is a tremendous looking player. For being a power runner, he appears to have some above average moves in the open field.
I really hope we can lock up these guys:
Lache Seastrunk
Storm Johnson
Dontae Williams

Since when has Lynx ever claimed to be an expert. He's just offering his evaluation, his opinion. If your gonna add to the discussion, great do so. If your just going to post crap do it on another board.

You went to Buford? I would of went there if we had moved up there when I was high school but (the family) decided against moving in the end (I grad. in '05). Buford runs a hell of a program, most dominant in the state.
If it wasn't for Charlton County, Buford would have 7 straight AA titles. Apparently the move up from A to AA from 2001->2002 didn't really matter. I'd like to see what Buford could do in AAA.

You don't kiss arse you suck cum out of arse. BTW, frick what I said on the OT about your car picks. They all suck. Lynx tries to add, not detract from the insanity that is the Recruiting Board. You must be twelve.

Ya. I graduated in '05 as well. And I hate Charlton County with a passion. We went 48-2 in high school. Tied with the 04 Buford class for the best record in state history.

Richt and Co. are very methodical in handing out offers. I think they are having number issues...think they only signed 18-20 players this year? Apparently, UGA takes the anti-Bama approach and lets a kid keep his scholly as long as he stays eligible. Take Drayton Calhoun, for example. Calhoun was all UGA...said so. Still, while he was waiting on his offer from Richt, he took a trip to LSU and fell in love with the idea of being a Tiger. He took his LSU offer and never looked back...even when Richt came begging later in the year. As a result, we end up getting one of Georgia's best players and one of the better players in the country.
Umm, yes and no. UGA has not offered Johnson because they like Mack Brown, Lattimore, and Clements from FLA better. UGA actually is sitting fairly pretty at RB and really only need to take 1 this year. Numbers will be tight and the majority will go to DL and WRs- positions of greater need. As for Calhoun, I believe he had a UGA offer before he visited LSU. It was simply as a CB, however, and he wanted the chance to play on offense as well, which LSU was willing to give him. You are right, though. UGA will be very finicky with the offers this year due to numbers unlike a few other schools who feel they recruit GA well because they offer everyone ever mentioned on the recruiting services.

Calhoun, who projects to play wide receiver or defensive back in college, committed to LSU over 15 other offers, including Florida and Tennessee. He made the surprising decision after visiting LSU for “Junior Day” last February.
“LSU just came out of nowhere,” Tucker coach Franklin Stephens recalled. “When I saw the look on his face when he came back [from LSU] I asked him, ‘Are you about to commit?’
“He said he was thinking about it. And then the next day, he did commit. It was a whirlwind thing.”
Soon after Calhoun pledged to sign with LSU, he finally got his dream offer from Georgia. The Bulldogs had waited a little bit longer because they were still evaluating players.
Calhoun has decided to remain with LSU over Georgia so far, but here are three reasons why the Bulldogs are holding onto faint hopes for a switch before National Signing Day on Feb. 4:
First love was Georgia
Calhoun admitted that he would be headed to Georgia, not LSU, if there had been different circumstances.
“If Georgia had offered me earlier, then I would’ve probably ended up there; yes, you could say that,” Calhoun said. “But they didn’t, so I visited LSU and fell in love with the place. … LSU got to me first, [and] that’s where I’m going.”
Calhoun said most of his family members are Georgia fans, but he is confident of converting them to LSU supporters over time.
Georgia keeping in touch
Several weeks ago, Calhoun said he talked to Georgia recruiting coordinator Rodney Garner.
“[Garner] said he was calling to check up on me,” Calhoun said. “He said they weren’t giving up on me, and that [running backs coach Tony Ball] was going to come to one of our games to watch me play.”
What did Calhoun say to Garner? “Nothing, really. I just listened to what he had to say.”
Calhoun said when he hung up the phone, he still felt 100 percent committed to LSU, and his coach believes it. Said Stephens: “Other than that phone call, Drayton has pretty much shut off contact with all the colleges.”
Wary of Georgia’s overtures, LSU stays in touch with Calhoun on a regular basis, even putting him on the phone with head coach Les Miles last week. Said Calhoun, “[Miles] can’t wait to get me down there. He wants to start me out on offense and use me all over the place like they do with [Trindon Holliday].”
Wide receivers needed
Georgia coach Mark Richt has made a public plea for wide receivers, stating that he intends to sign at least two. The Bulldogs got a commitment earlier this week from Rantavious Wooten of Belle Glade, Fla., and are in the hunt for several other big names. Calhoun is on that list.
While playing almost exclusively at tailback, Calhoun has 75 carries for 652 yards and seven touchdowns and two receptions for 77 yards and two touchdowns.
“He has the rare ability to score any time he touches the ball, from anywhere on the field,” Stephens said.
In recent weeks, Tucker has taken better advantage of Calhoun’s athleticism with screen passes, deep passes and toss running plays designed to get him open.

Bravo for retrieving that article. I've argued that with UGA fans since Calhoun committed to LSU. Now, shut up UGA.
