"LSU offered me at their junior day and I talked to coach (Bradley Dale) Peveto again last night and committed then," Calhoun said.
The Tucker (Ga.) standout played running back last season and finished with just under 1,100 yards rushing and 12 scores.
He said the LSU coaches liked what he could do with the ball in his hands but his position is still to be determined.
"They talked about offense because of what I can do in space like maybe receiver or running back and returning kicks," he said. "It doesn't matter to me because I just want to win and help them keep winning championships."
Calhoun said that he already has met the academic requirements needed to be academically qualified with his GPA and SAT score, and he is set to graduate in December and enroll at LSU in January.
The versatile playmaker said he also had offers from Mississippi State, Tennessee, Clemson, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Auburn and others but the decision to play for the Tigers was one that needed little thought after his weekend in Baton Rouge.
"They have everything you need and everything you could ask for in terms of facilities and what they offer," Calhoun said. "After meeting and talking to the coaches I saw how they were all one big family that I wanted to be a part of."
Calhoun is LSU's sixth commitment for 2009.

Let's just hope Storm Warren and Storm Johnson don't team up to make it rain in New Orleans.
