He's on an NFL roster. It's about strength and conditioning development, and that's what WR's know they will get at LSU. Talent alone has not worked well for many guys, it takes hard work and competition to push you to that next level. Day in and day out Speedy can compete against future NFL db's in practice and make his NFL jump a lot smoother while receiving the best conditioning in the NCAA from Tommy Moffitt. Does A&M have a Moffitt? Do they have world class DB's to push against in practice and the off seasons like LSU?

A WR can have success and get to the NFL from LSU, no one is disputing that. All the other stuff you are spouting is nice and a plus for LSU, but pure Homerism

Other teams have S&C coaches as does the NFL. Practicing against better DB's is meaningless. Look at the top WR's and the NFL and you see guys from all over, from different schools, conferences and styles of offense. Its more about the player's ability and natural talent. Of course talent alone doesn't get you there, and yes it requires hard work, but talent is the #1 factor. Just because teams don't win as many games doesn't mean they don't have good coaches too.

Yet you overlooked the biggest thing he wrote. Not very many teams have had 2 1000 yards receivers. They're the first SEC team in the last decade to do so. In Cam Cameron's first year.

Its a great stat for LSU to brag about but in the end who really cares? Yeah we had 2 1000 WRs in part because our 3rd leading receiver had only 18 catches. If A&M only threw to 2 guys, they'd have 2 1000 WR's too. Look, I"M NOT SAYING A&M'S OFFENSE IS BETTER, I specifically said he can succeed at either place, to deny that is to fool yourself. There are pluses for LSU, which I'm sure the coaches will sell to him hopefully he sees that and picks LSU.

If Speedy wants to play this game and doesn't want to be part of this incredible class, then let him go to TAMU, UF, or wherever he wants to go. We have plenty of receivers and skill players (with or without Landry and OBJ). The guy is 5'10" 175. The days of the small WR's (think Duper and Clayton) are pretty much over anyway. We need big, physical receivers who can also block. I say reserve this scholarship for a big-time DL or OL.

Haha nice one. How did you post this with a straight face. You should look into comedy as a career.

The guys who caught those 1000 yards, and whose to say it isn't because the 3rd guy didn't show up? Speedy or someone else could surely show up and make the passing attack EVEN BETTER. Not to mention Jennings will have 4 years under Cam, not just 1 offseason.

You sir are a fool. Speedy is a Tavon Austin clone. Besides did you not see how small the back up RB was for ole miss and he destroyed us. Speedy isn't a RB, but he is going to get sweeps, read hand offs, screens and be a nightmare match up for LBs in the slot. He's the X-factor that will complete this offense
Yep, Speedy will be LSU's D. Thomas or T. Austin in a Cam offense. I think they had that role planned for Brazil. Not any more.

You, sir, are a fool for not recognizing why the little midget from Ole Miss destroyed us - because no one touched him until he got into the secondary because our DL's and LB's were "getting destroyed". We need people in the trenches. Who knows if guys like Gilmore, Herron, and Bain are gonna develop? Here's another question for you on the other side of the ball strictly from a "needs" standpoint: If you could only choose one, would you take CRob or Speedy?

That's great for them, but NFL scouts do not give a frick if you had 1000 rec or 800 Rec, let alone if your team had 2 WR with 1000. Its a nice accomplishment for LSU, OBJ and Landry, but utterly meaningless for future recruits and their NFL prospects.

quote:

and whose to say it isn't because the 3rd guy didn't show up

A&M attempted 37.6 passes, LSU 25.5. That's 12 more passer/game. 25.5 passes/game is not enough for 2 WR to have 1000 yds and a 3rd WR to have done anything. If a 3rd WR had shown up, the top 2's stats would have gone done, but that doesn't matter either because pro scouts don't care about slight variations or arbitrary thresholds like 1000 yds.

Very possible and I sure hope. I've said multiple times that there are pluses for LSU's offense. It is possible for some one with Speedy's talent to thrive in EITHER offense. Recognizing the appeal of A&M's offense is not saying a WR can not thrive in LSU's offense, the 2 are not mutually exclusive.

Who ever said that???

None like speedy.

OBJ and Jarvis are excellent blockers.

Take this to the rant.

Neal and bowers will probably be our best young ends outside of hunter and beckwith if he stays there

Speedy.

Yall are trippin.

Speedy Noil is one of the best athletes ever to come out of La. He has a fifth gear and he explodes out of his breaks. His ability to accelerate out of a cut is unmatched.

TAMU's offence was prolific under Johnny Football. No one should deny that. However something like 38 per cent of their TDs over 20 yards occurred on busted plays when JF scrambled and threw the ball up to tall recievers.

No doubt Speedy would do well there. But Cam is an NFL offensive coordinator who knows how to utilize offensive weapons like Speedy. Look at talented guys who have become super stars under Cam's systems. Its a huge list. Under Cams systems Speedy is going to get matched up in single coverage a lot, and there is no one in college football who can cover him individually.

I will cheer for Speedy wherever he goes, But I know the LSU staff thinks he is really special and Cam is already scheming ways to turn Speedy into a top ten pick in three years. They think he is that good and plan to use him in a number of ways, all over the field, to maximize his unique talents.

Brazil has more straight line speed, I'd imagine. But speedy is quicker and more elusive

Manzeil doesn't throw to two receivers though . He throws everything to Evans , and when Evans is covered he runs . The backup for A&M is much worse . He needs to be here
