Don't assume this is a fact. One word: Auburn

What they did can change the recruiting landscape. Making assumptions about "locks" and teams having no chance because the had no offense or defense this season can be dangerous. Nobody wants to be taken for granted, including these kids being recruited by schools all over the country. We need to sell these guys based on what we have and what we are all about, and not what somebody else is or is not. And we need to recruit each one to the finish line, like we think we're in second place, and not like we think they are a "lock."

Why is the A&M offense more attractive ?

We are the team with two 1000 yard WR's and a 1000 yard back.

These chuck and duck offenses like A&M are so over rated.

Spot on. "Attractive" to me is success in the win column & TAM (even with JFF) have proven themselves mediocre at best. Power & balanced offenses will still be here after the flash & dash stuff is long forgotten.

If Speedy wants to play this game and doesn't want to be part of this incredible class, then let him go to TAMU, UF, or wherever he wants to go. We have plenty of receivers and skill players (with or without Landry and OBJ). The guy is 5'10" 175. The days of the small WR's (think Duper and Clayton) are pretty much over anyway. We need big, physical receivers who can also block. I say reserve this scholarship for a big-time DL or OL.

I'm not saying its "more" attractive, I'm saying it has its pros, so it's not a completely ridiculous thing for him to be interested in A&M. Again, not saying the A&M situation is better, just saying there are things for Speedy to be attracted to there.

A&M was 6th nationally in points scored and 7th in passing yds. I'm not exactly sure why a WR would care about having a 1000 yd rusher. Your opinion of the validity of spread offenses in irrelevant.

Good for you, when you get recruited as a 5* WR, you can decide to go to a primarily running based team.

You guys need to stop looking at it like fans. These are kids, a kid wants the ball. A kid thinks the team he is on will win because he and his team mates are good. Auburn does not exactly run a traditional offense and they are in the BCS CG for the 2nd time in 4 years. Fans of traditional FB can rag on teams that run spreads all you want, kids will still find it attractive.

Speedy has the talent to get to the next level no matter where he goes or what offense that team runs. Hopefully he picks LSU, he could do great things here, but saying you do get why A&M is attractive to him is on you.

Shepard was undrafted and Holiday was picked as a kick returner. So that's not exactly a ringing endorsement

He's on an NFL roster. It's about strength and conditioning development, and that's what WR's know they will get at LSU. Talent alone has not worked well for many guys, it takes hard work and competition to push you to that next level. Day in and day out Speedy can compete against future NFL db's in practice and make his NFL jump a lot smoother while receiving the best conditioning in the NCAA from Tommy Moffitt. Does A&M have a Moffitt? Do they have world class DB's to push against in practice and the off seasons like LSU?

Low center of gravity allows for better blocking skills, just FYI. Have you ever heard of Steve Smith? Jerry Rice? I think Speedy will be just fine. His size is not even close to being an issue, its an advantage in many ways that gives him more ability to cut and get YAC.

Speedy's talents are different and rare. Correct big WR's are where it is at right now but if you have a solid big WR corps already then the addition of a Speedy type guy can reap huge rewards if you don't have to rely on him every play to be the goto WR.

Yet you overlooked the biggest thing he wrote. Not very many teams have had 2 1000 yards receivers. They're the first SEC team in the last decade to do so. In Cam Cameron's first year.

It does seem like we're lean on OL/DL and I really can't comment on how talented Noil is. But, an elusive guy whom an OC can get the ball to in space puts an enormous strain on defenses. Simply put, there's still a big role to play for this talent.

This is totally unnecessary and ridiculous post.

Also a 5'8' 176lb receiver was just a top 10 pick in the NFL draft.

You sir are a fool. Speedy is a Tavon Austin clone. Besides did you not see how small the back up RB was for ole miss and he destroyed us. Speedy isn't a RB, but he is going to get sweeps, read hand offs, screens and be a nightmare match up for LBs in the slot. He's the X-factor that will complete this offense

And? That's not a tall receiver by today's standards. Jerry Rice became great off of his ability to run great routes and catch. He wasn't a tall, jumping and running athlete.
