So nothing LSU could do here is the new excuse?

I love how the reasoning keeps changing in an effort to try and cover for poor jobs of recruiting.

Anyone else feel these recruiting pros are going to bat with excuses for lsu in fear of losing their gravy train of inside info from lsu and nothing else?

Even LSU fans can admit that Saban is the best coach in college. Saban specializes in DBs... Hootie is a DB. Bama DBs have been shite in the pros though

Its the catch phrase Saban uses when recruiting out of state.

He talks out of both sides of his mouth, and because he wins, no one calls him on it.

When he was here, and Im sure when he recruits Alabama, he says "set yourself up for long term success. Nothing is guaranteed in football with injuries, etc. There isnt anything like representing your home state, playing in front of your family and friends, and if football doesnt pan out, solidifying your future at HOME."

Like posted above...these top-tier kids are going WHEREEVER the NC Trophy is. They know a year or two before hand...but would be a fool to commit out of state and continue to play here.

The worst of em' play the tease game; we don't need that kind anyway...character deficiency. There has to be some degree of dignity retained here. Or maybe not!

Which is why he said it. Obvious spin job to minimize what just happened.

See, I don't buy this either. If he is the talent we all think he would shine in either system. Which system do you think will get said person to the NFL quicker and at top level? The obvious impression answer to this question is Bama.

May I present two Defensive Rookie of the Year candidates: 1) Eric Reid 2) Tyrann Mathieu. Both Early draftees by the way. Is there a Bama candidate???

Those two played for a different DB coach. Bama is downplaying LSU's DBs in the league because the guys that coached them are no longer at LSU.

You talk in conflicts. If Saban is a DB specialist then where are the pro prodigies. I can name a few but I can name more from LSU...

Saban is a db specialist...just see the second to last Auburn TD... that was a well trained DB running to the line leaving the receiver uncovered..you here all these coaches are great at coaching certain positions...what horseshite/ they recruit 5 stars and hope they aren't idiots

EXACTLY

as I said the other reasoning was complete BS.. lol at LSU not recruiting him hard enough. They did all they could within the rules and even did the home visit the night before.

He wanted to go there all along with his boys

I agree that Bama's DBs have flopped in the league. They're selling draft position which is dumb to me.

Bama reminds me of some of the enterprise IT vendors sales teams. Some of these guys were driven like rented mules. Hang out in the parking lot waiting for prospect to get to work, show up at their kids t-ball games, refusing to leave the receptionists desk until she interrupts a meeting to let client know they're there, hide out to see how long their competitors meetings were, etc.

I agree. Why weren't Wilson and Haley up there from the start. When you are after 5 star recruits, you damn sure better send your 5 star recruiters.

I honestly think the 2011 NC game just caught up with us. Cam rob was quoted at how impressed he was after that game, it put bama on the pedestal not LSU. We play ok st camrob and hootie are dressing up for LSU next year. They watched bama come into LA and destroy the home team, winning is everything, we must win

well you can't win unless you have the horses. If the top players in Louisiana came to LSU they would win NC's.

Talking about 2011, when we had the horses. Kids made up their mind that night bama was the better program. Maybe a close game would have made it nuetral, but they dominated. Was speaking of why they are choosing bama

But you are right. Imagine if mingo and Eric Reid were playing for bama that year.. Not just what it adds for them but what it takes from us. Collins and Duvall would be starting mlb and safety and two of the best players on our D. Imagine not having Lael Collins and having Hawkins left and Washington right all season. You cannot lose these guys
