yah, lets endorse him telling Hootie to go tell his friends that Tigernation said they can go to hell. (sounds a bit like Ole Miss???)
That will really help recruiting in NE La!!!! NOT

I think if you off the record asked Coach Raymond, Coach Chavis, or CLM whether they could have Hootie Jones or Jamal Adams, they would take the latter.

Where are all of his highlights this year?

I have other random thoughts on Saban and Monroe that I'll save for another time.

Well, I don't see any of the NELA guys on here, and they probably could fill in some gaps for me, and it's late.
But, the just of it is I know a coach who was a QC for Saban a few years ago, and works all of his summer camps directly with Saban and the DB's. He works with other coaches who do the same. These coaches are paid well for their time, and many are from LA.
I believe there's 1 or 2 on the WM staff, or in the Monroe area. I don't think these guys are doing anything illegal, they're just Saban disciples. One of my sons did a workout recently with this coach, and he's a great, motivated guy. Dressed in crimson and white.
Same coach has worked with several of the present and past LSU players, and was set up to work with a prominent future player. Let's just say the staff got wind of this, and there will be no further contact.
The staff knows what is going on. Believe it or not, there's just some things that are out of your control. I have a passion for this game as much as I do LSU, and always pride myself on being able to call a spade a spade. There was a particular moment in the second half of the Arkansas game where I just had to say out loud, "How can you blame a kid for wanting to go somewhere else to get coached with attention to detail."
I love LSU, and the football program to a fault, and I will defend her, but there is definitely a lot that is best unsaid.
Like I said, a lot of random thoughts.

This is something we can fix. MATCH, or exceed what they're paid and get them to our camps. Again, no proactivity whatsoever on our part.

LSU will be using Wilson and Haley more in NELA but even if Miles had personally recruited Robinson and Jones, they likely would still have left the state. LSU will begin using its ace recruiters up north to rebuild that fence.

You guys sure love to run down LSU to justify a decision of an 18 year old HS kid.
First we lost CRob because of Stud not putting guys in the pros. Now with Hootie we lost him because Corey Raymond isn't putting guys in the pros and he can't coach.
Well Reid and Simon went to the pros last year, and while Simon is bunged up; Reid is starting for the 49ers. He seems to be doing pretty good and he played for Raymond.
Jones picked Bama while we have top talent at DB lining up to come to LSU. Let it be. Jones made his choice. Let him go stand in line and wait his turn at Bama. Maybe he will play, maybe he won't but it was his choice. He had his reasons. mayne he likes to go to the eye Dr. who knows.
We're going to land a heck of a class this year. We won't get everyone on our list, but we're going to get some really strong talent. Running down our talent and our program is plain foolish. Kids pick LSU over Bama and vice versa all the time. Making up BS reasons for their choices and running down our coaches stinks.

Shea Dixon clears up Hootie's reasoning.I honestly think the 2011 NC game just caught up with us. Cam rob was quoted at how impressed he was after that game, it put bama on the pedestal not LSU. We play ok st camrob and hootie are dressing up for LSU next year. They watched bama come into LA and destroy the home team, winning is everything, we must win

Whatever
I guess the "i didnt make the decision until 20 minutes before the announcement statement didnt go so well. So now lets try Ive been enamored by Nick Saban for 2 years maybe that will work.
Who cares about this kid's recruiting anymore. Lets get all in for Jamal and hope he goes down as the guy that got Hootie's rings.

DB play has regressed the last two seasons, and it isn't some anti-LSU babble.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LSU is currently ranked 20th in Total Defense in the country, 16th in Pass Defense. You're being duped because there were some pretty badly botched zone coverages throughout the season. The DB's main problem this year is play recognition, primarily due to inexperience and the fact that Loston just doesn't have great football instincts.
quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Robinson being our best DB as a true freshman that didn't even join the team until late fall camp should make it clear the issue.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Robinson is a situational player at this point, it's pretty easy for a stud DB to play man right off the bat.
+1 exactly right, and no BS or psycobabble.

Auburn and Ole Miss are much closer to A&M than GA and Bama. The big challenge in this league going forward is being able to defend against mis-direction, up-tempo teams one week and pro-style teams the next.
The SECW is so tough that Bama who has won 3 NCs in five years will have only gone to Atlanta twice in those same five years.
Good point about defense. You have to defend a power team like Bama/LSU and then beat a team like Ole Miss/A&M with spread O's and running QBs and then defend an Auburn who is playing a spread/single wing type attack featuring option principles and the run.
The West is only going to get tougher too with the money and coaches being hired.

Are you talking about Alabama? How many assignments did that defense miss Saturday?
No biggie, only a NC at hand against your arch rival here. The luck and the drive is finally running out in Gumpland.
I cant wait for the actual meltdown, its going to be comical.

Since we played Bama they looked like crap against State and make a ton of mistakes against Auburn.
It's November, and teams wear down, teams lose their edge, teams rise to the occasion, and yes teams beat Alabama.
People see all the mistakes we make, and act like other teams don't make the same type mistakes, but they do.

the problem is you watch your own team with a different set of lenses compared to others. For example, the Oregon-Oregon State game last weekend was a great game to watch from afar. Same with Bama-Auburn. Substitute LSU for any of those teams and the Score Board would have been in continuous meltdown.

That and when you have to cover offensive players for an extended period of time because the line or LB's aren't putting any pressure on the QB, you're not going to be successful either.
