Sounds like Bama fans see him as a Bama version of Robbie Green but I doubt Gibson starts for us as a sophomore.
Robbie Green = all-world Safety. You didn't know? Better than Taylor Mayes.

Epic sour grapes, IMO.

c'mon now. Maybe Miles found a sleeper, only time will tell. But I'll go with my coach's decision to not offer the kid (thats really all any of us can do).

Given the fact that it is entirely impossible for the great one to somehow overlook or mis-judge a recruit, especially one from Alabama that is projected to play in the secondary, I can understand why Bama are staring blankly at that ranking in utter shock and disbelief.
I haven't seen that look on a Bama face since the ULM debacle. I would venture to bet that if you were to ask several Bama fans who won that game, many would now say Bama because they have utterly blocked out the possibility that they could have somehow lost to a ULM.

I know that. Every one of these guys are saying he's not any good, yet they've NEVER seen the kid play anywhere but QB. While Rivals has seen the kid perform as a DB.
As for the Bama camp, Bama fans claim he went to their camp and the coaches basically never even paid attention to him. Nor did Auburn coaches.
But of course, BOL is 100% truth, 100% of the time.

Which is fine. Understandable. as for these other clowns that lives and dies by what BOL has to say....well, there's not hope for those guys.

sounds like what 95% of this board was saying the day he committed. Prom, did it really bother you when Bama got Lacy last year? Cause this situation is pretty close to that one, except no one was questioning Lacy's athletic ability-- just his mental capabilities.

well, i cant argue that

I actually agree with you that the Gibson situation is somewhat similar to Lacy not getting an offer last year.
The reason I say somewhat is because Gibson has a 3.87 and Lacy had a 2.0 at this stage of the game, and Gibson has never been accused of statutory rape.

How is this anythign like the Lacy situation?

b/c bama offered and got a LA guy lsu didnt offer. Are they not similar?
Posted on 7/30/09 at 2:01 pm to Keys Open Doors
Yes, taking out the gpa and off-the-field incident.
Posted on 7/30/09 at 2:01 pm to bamaatlsu
That is the only similarity, although it sounded like you were painting a bigger picture.

I'm not smart enough to paint a bigger picture. I was trying to simplify things
Posted on 7/30/09 at 2:02 pm to bamaatlsu
I wasn't trying to be sarcastic with that post. I swear
LSU didn't lose Lacy because they never offered, and Bama didn't lose Gibson because they never offered. It's just that LSU didn't offer Lacy for the aforementioned reasons.

Agreed, and Bama didnt offer Gibson b/c they had guys higher on their board. I was just trying to say I didnt think either coaching staff is/was broken up about losing that particular in-state guy--so I'm not sure why the fans should be upset.

Because LSU fans at the time knew as little about him as the delusional BOL gumps do now.
Hence the similar comments.
The only difference is he isn't from our state, so we shouldn't know much about him.
