Riley and Beckwith gone. Inside LB's next season?

Both starting inside LB's are gone after this season. Saw what happened when Beckwith left the game. Florida gashed us with the run game. We'll have Devin White next season, but he must have a long way to go as he is our only LB physically similar to Beckwith yet didn't get in the game after Beckwith went down. Donnie Alexander came in, but he is the size of a safety.

MLB and ILB 2 different positions
Beck is MLB and White is ILB.
If Riley would have gotten hurt White would have been in game.

OK
So they will never play then?
We need significantly better NT play though. We did not keep out LB clean at all.
Gilmore gets blown up by the center alone. Thats not good.

Thornton will be welcome.
Also, how is LSU doing with Chris Allen, likely the state's top linebacker recruit?

MLB success is based on much more than athleticism.

Just throwing something at the wall here ... what about moving David Ducre to ILB? He's big, fast, and can hold his own in the box. I realize that he'd have to learn the position. Thoughts?

I think next White and Alexander have the same role as Beck and Riley. Size wise they are about the same. Would like to see Divinity slide to ILB. He has the size at 234 (and can add more to his frame), and is athletic. Would be a nice pair of SOPH's with White for at least the next two years.

White
Divinity
Thornton
Anthony could get a look there
Would hate to rely on true fr at that position, it won't end well
I was hoping Ducre might get a look at LB, what other team in America goes three deep at fullback?

If Thorton puts on more mass he is the guy IMO. Would like to keep Divinity outside...Donnie Alexander may be fine against some teams but he had a rough time getting off blocks on Saturday.

Alexander had his moment.......

How about Corey Thompson and Christian Lacouture? Can someone provide news on these 2

I don't understand this reasoning. Keeping Divinity on the outside makes no sense. That basically means he isn't playing 75% of the season which is a complete waste to me. He is already 235 so could easily play at 240 next season. I see White, Divinity, and Akexander rotating in the inside next season
I think Thompson/Thornton will be the F linebacker

Agree. With Thompson coming back he will make an ideal F LB. A rotation of White, Alexander and Divinity would be fast, with White and Divinity having ideal size.
You could see vs UF both Riley and Alexander were undersized, and beaten at the point of attk. Riley did not have Beck, who routinely takes on blockers freeing Riley to make plays, which he has done VERY well this season. White needs to be on the field A LOT vs TAM this Thurs. Invaluable reps for a guy who will start at ILB next season.

Forgot Thompson was coming back, he can fill in at LB
Lacoutour is gone, already confirmed for end of year all star game.

Devin White and Ray Thornton and possibly Michael Divinity

Thompson is already a fifth yr senior. He will have to get a sixth yr medical waiver.

I would swap D. Alexander to OLBer and Divinity and Thornton inside. Let Thompson and Alexander make plays on the outside opposite Key. I think Alexander may be better suited for the outside. He's more of a fast athletic LBer than a thumper like Beckwith or D. White.
