For each of the large recruiting sites, do they favor a certain team or conference?
247
Rivals
Scout
espn
(Yes I thought about not including espn but...meh)

These are run by Bammers, and a heavy, heavy bias is assumed, and been proven.

It's seems that slowly but surely 247 is starting in that direction also. And I know that ESPN is shite on a lot around here, but this year they seem to have our La boys rated better than the other sites. ETA: They have Donnie Alexander and Tony Upchurch, even Chark at 4*'s which Alexander and Upchurch definitely deserve. Not sold yet on Chark but he was offered so he's got something for sure.

Well ESPN just blew up their recruiting sites once again and fired all the sites and reporters that were working for them. They need to figure it out.

Rivals was started by Gumps and run by Gumps with a huge Gump bias. Over the past year a bunch of the staff has moved over to 247, so now both services are Gumped up!!!

Don't remember which site it was (I think Rivals) but when Ricky Seals-Jones committed to Texas, he was the number one wide receiver in the nation. When he left and chose A&M, he dropped to number eight for whatever reason.

Seals-Jones dropped from 5* to high 4* on every service way before he committed to A&M. Not a Rivals thing.

ESPN had Bradley Sylvie as the #1 rated WR in Louisiana coming out for 2011. All based on straight line track speed and the fact he was an early commit to Bama. He was rated ahead of another kid. His name escapes me. "Jarvis" something.

Scout is the most Midwest friendly.

They're bias is kind of spread around equally that way.

Its not always team bias from those sites. For the record I'm not a big believer in the bama bias thing other than they put a lot of weight on that staffs evaluations. I think the success of all those bama classes kind of gives credence to the so called bias.
My biggest peave with the sites is that they have no clear criteria for the rankings they give to players. One kid that's raw and playing a new position with great potential and athletic ability(Jabrill Peppers) is consideres elite and a can't miss kid while another with the same characteristics(Noil) is considered a project that they need to see more from. Its the very definition of the athlete position if you question a kids position. This is just one and example and I'm not knocking Peppers because imo he deserves his ranking and he may be the best pure talent in the class. I just think Noil deserves to be closer to the same position in the rankings.
This type of contradictory explanations are rampant in the industry. I know its all a crapshoot and opinion but they could at least have a common, set criteria that they use.
Sometimes a certain site(ahem Rivals) weighs too heavily the opinion of one man(Mike Farrell) in their rankings. I'm sure its this way everywhere but nowhere quite as blatant as rivals and farrell. Scouts version is the GA guy Simmons. I know from some comments made by Coppage and Sonny Shipp that their recommendations were basically paid no mind while Simmons had the power to place kids where he wanted.
Basically its a system of favortism and strong opinions with loud voices. Unless a kid just jumps off the page and can't be discounted then its a crapshoot and in the hands of the power players of each particular site. 247 is still the best imo even with some of the shadiness therr. Theyat least compare all the sites to themselves.
Now if could just figure out the Rivals and 247 math problems for team rankings I'd be good. That also leads some to question the honesty of the rankings. Go take a look at 247's team rankings and explain to me how LSU is so low right now. I know pure numbers are hurting us but quality over quantity still has to aply at some point
