it all started back when the booty's were there....none of the other players from around the state liked evangel guys cause they thought they were cheaters for the 8+ program...the guys that went there never got along with anyone...Hester was a different breed though, grew up in the south side of shreveport were its blue collar...hester was a blue collar type kid, hard worker, etc...

Well, good luck to him. i hope it works out. its not like FSU is some dump, I can certainly see the appeal. id much rather him at LSU obviously, but at least hes out of the SEC, so, i wish him the best.

CamdenTiger,everything I've heard points to what you said.I've been told that as of now(things could change)that the reason Texas has begun to make a late charge(and the Arkansas stuff to an extremely less degree)is that in all liklihood mom is not letting him go that far.Bascically if she wins out he'll have 2 realistic options Texas or LSU.Depends which he likes best.For the record i have been told some of the things the OP posted but Rasco personally just likes FSU more.Sad truth but everything points to him liking FSU more than anyone.We'll all have to see what happens on signing day.Should be fun whether we get him or not.We'll just take 3 DEs next year if we don't get him.We'll be fine.

I don't know about Byron Dawson but this whole Evangel hates LSU theory has been going on for over a decade.
The beginnings of the theory were sound and revolved around Dennis Dodd and his close relationship with Mack Brown. The two of them were old friends and it was no secret that Dodd steered his players to Texas: Pittman, Lee, Geigar, etc. Saban got a couple of recruits in Maxwell and Hester but only because he was a relentless recruiter and those guys were deemed not good enough for Texas.
The theory gained momentum after the Booty brothers came to LSU. Daddy Booty was a fan of LSU but apparently felt that Josh, along with Abram after his back injury, was slighted at LSU. The third Booty, John David, never considered LSU. Unlike the above paragraph, I don't know if any of this is fact. This is only what I have heard secondhand.
Now the theory continues with this Evangel DC who played for LSU under Saban but apparently does not like Miles. I don't know if this is fact...but a lot of people say so.

Why would any kid from La. go to another school if they are good enough to go to LSU?
The best food in the world is in La.
If the colleges are similar, it's a no brainer. Go where the food tastes better.

Highly doubt this is the case. Rasco isn't going to be influenced that much by Dawson regardless. He pretty much shut down his recruiting during the season. Believe his only visit was to FSU until recent.

If true I suppose Dawson can't see its not respect but taking advantage of by Fla St for his input. Greasing the skids maybe? Somone needs to invite Dawson to lunch and that would take care of that.
