Rasco leaning to Fla St.

I have it from an inside source at Evangel that Rasco is likely going to sign with Fla St. For some reason, Byron Dawson, defensive coordinator, and former LSU player, who never played for Miles, is swaying Evangel players away from LSU.
I believe the last Evangel player to chose LSU is Jacob Hester. That has been years ago. Contrast that to West Monroe which has become a pipeline to LSU. It is the HS coaches that have the greatest influence on the players.
I have been an Evangel fan for years, but I am getting tired of seeing none of their players going to LSU!

if he played for lsu, why the hell would he steer kids away from us

Been hearing this from a couple of posters lately. Oh well, his loss. He could get him a NC ring next year as well as get in with one of the best defensive minds in college football. Most years this would be devastating to me. But b/c of Mingo and Montgomery only being sophmores next year and Maclin waiting in the wings it won't be that bad. Hopefully he comes to his senses before signing day.

I believe Dawson played under Saban and while Jimbo Fisher was on staff. Evidently, he doesn't like Miles and crew.
I believe he was the biggest influence as well on William Russ last year when Russ chose Texas and Muschamp over LSU.

This is absolute truth. He tries to get kids to visit others schools not named LSU.

After thinking about it, I realized that if he was going to come to lsu, he would of signed by now.
I know some will say this is normal, but I feel this one is different. Every other major recruit has been committed for months now and the only 2 to hold out really is g rob and rasco and we know where g rob is.
You could say the same about odel, but he was all lsu anyway

I feel like Evangel players have a history of not choosing LSU...I always assumed a coach or two there hated LSU...this somewhat supports my blatant accusation with no knowledge of anything.

99.99% of Evangel players flop (including Byron Dawson aka the next Booger McFarland) so who cares.

I definitely want Rasco in this class. However, the circumstances line up for it not to be a big loss if we miss on him this year. We're deep at DE and not losing anyone this year. 2012 is looking to be very deep at that position in state. Maybe none of them are as good as Rasco, who is very good, but there should still be a few very quality DEs to choose from next year, including Torshiro Davis, who should always be in the game at the same time as Barkevious Mingo.
ETA: Also, I don't like HS coaches that steer kids anywhere, be it to LSU or away. They need to let the kid and his family decide where the best place for him is and not try and influence their decision.

I know a couple folks familiar with the situation at Evangel as well, and not all of this is true.
