This is per Taylor Hamm on the Aggie 247 site.

Edited to add: Taylor also reported that A&M is recruiting Dillon as a slot WR.

Prefers offense and likely why we don't land him. Hope the athlete pitch works but he isn't one that isn't open to leaving the state. Just have to see what he buys and from who. Fantastic player

1. Because the staff wants him on defense.
2. They want to see how he performs at camp on offense.
3. This class is loaded with in-state receivers

Any of those 3 will work

Were looking at him for cornerback.

quote:

"I learned a lot at LSU, especially about the schedule the players follow on a daily basis," Dillon said. "When we broke into position meetings I went with Coach (Corey) Raymond and the defensive backs and he talked about what they do and what it takes to play the position. "I will play it if that's what they want me to play," Dillon said of cornerback. "I'm not too familiar with it because I haven't played a lot of cornerback but the visit went good."

Have you seen the list of killer WR's we have gotten lately? I am pretty sure we won't be running any 7 WR sets on offense. Missing on a WR is probably.... scratch that is definitely, the least of the LSU coaches concerns.

I'm almost certain he has an offer. Just not as a WR.

almost no way the staff will be able to wait until camp for dillion. if we don't offer him early we will lose him to others who will offer him shortly. if staff doesn't mind losing him then that's their decision. too many schools recruiting la. so the days of waiting till camp on a top flight recruit are over.

And they don't mind or else they would have offered him by now. If he goes, oh well, but if the staff is unsure of how he can play as a WR then there is no need to rush it. Hell, go watch Chatman's film and even he doesn't have an offer yet

You are correct!!! Here we go...another Marshall Faulk and Warrick Dunn case. Come on staff, offer this kid. Take him!! Not as freaking DB either. Just play him all over the field, RB, Slot, QB, KR, PR. The kid is too good to pass on! You have get to be kidding me coach?

I love the recruiting board this time of year. People are freaking out over who has an offer when these kids haven't even finished their JUNIOR year of high school. There is plenty of time for the staff to evaluate and make offers. Everyone relax
