Very sad but true. How much more dominant does this kid need to be.

No. It is not reasonable to have the all time receiving yards leader in the nation at 128 in the nation. This is a case of him being hated on because he's white. He isn't beating up on weaklings. He plays in the best district in the largest classification in the state. Quinn is flat out being discredited because of the color of his skin.

I asked why Quinn was still rated so low, this is the response I got:
Level of competition and stats are factored in, but are a very small part of it. Recruiting rankings are projections and we like where Quinn is projected currently.

Now, that's not to say we won't change our minds at the end, but we don't just automatically move guys up based on things like that. That's for the USA Today All-American team to take into account. Our rankings are much more long-term based and are a ranking of "prospects" rather than "players". There are hundreds of GREAT high school players across the country who will never play a down of college football. It's our job to cover recruiting, not high school football in general, so we have to project and differentiate nationally- with players from different states that play different levels of competition and different positions- somehow in doing so.

It's quite complicated.

We are high on Trey, though. Picked him for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl and are excited about seeing him down there.

Had he been black none of that would have mattered.

In fairness, how many dominant white WRs have there been in college in the last 20 years...let alone high round draft choice white receivers? I don't blame them for hedging their bets because they are probably right if history is any indication.

are you suggesting that there has never been a white wr rated higher than 128 and for the record he is a top 50 on espn.

yes, i do think quinn is too low but high school stats don't mean a thing as evidenced by dupree being a 5 star on every service. camp performances and subjective views on college potential is 10x more important than h.s. stats.

Trey at 128 is just ridiculous. If he's not a five star he's at least in the top 75. I think he's a better receiver than Ermon Lane, but thats just my opinion.

It's all good guys.......he THRIVES on this and brings the chip on his shoulder to every game, camp, and competition he is in. Sure, it can be viewed as a sign of disrespect, as there is not a tougher district in 5A, along with schedules that have included West Monroe, Evangel, etc. He draws each team's best defenders, and he would not want it any other way. Iron sharpens Iron!

Doug Williams...Still the only black QB to ever win the Super Bowl. I'd still take Terry Bridgewater, Tahj Boyd, Jameis Winston and a host of ther black QBs in a heartbeat.

Congratulations to Gerald Willis III on his fifth star I know the kid has been working extremely hard and he earned it.
