I agree. He's probably a stand up kid, hard worker and coachable.

Maybe the offense they plan on running this year doesn't fit their skill set.

All I'm saying is that IF this offer wasn't based strictly off of the kid and his abilities on the field, that it would be unfair to the kid in the the case that he may be asked to grayshirt(and I'm not assuming anything but its possible IF its a ploy for lodge) and it would be even more unfair if it took a scholarship from an in-state that may have been more deserving of it.

Come on, why would they grey-shirt McMillan? There are two scholarship QB's in front of him. I think the offer says a lot about McMillan's potential. For Cam to offer, McMillan must have been pretty damn impressive during camp.

if cam wants to offer this kid on the strength of his camp performance than thats cool with me. ron cooper used to rustle a few recruiting board jimmies with his post camp eval offers.

Rivers got passed up by Jennings in an offense that "fit his skill set" last year. So.....

Good point. You've won this go around, but we shall meet again.

Congrats for the kid to be a tiger. I'm liking what I see in his film.

He is the QB who as a junior led his team very impressively to the TX State Championship of the toughest Division in HS football anywhere. The new 6A Division (Formerly DIV 5A II) is composed of the the largest HS in TX with student bodies of 4500 to 6000. They have elite facilities, elite coaching and rabid support from their fans.In short they are the HS SEC.

Other than that his videos are outstanding and Cameron having an exceptionally close look at him and choosing him to be the QB for this class so soon is impressive.

I remember many of us discussing why wouldn't Brandon Harris camp, whether LSU should offer, etc.

Cam went and saw him in person, offer & commitment followed in relatively quick selection.

Now we're talking about him being a true frosh starter and he's gotten some rave, admittedly early, reviews.

If Cam saw enough in him at camp to offer very shortly after... good enough for me. And those are damns sure pretty deep throws. Y'all may laugh at me for this, but those throws remind me of Jeff Blake who I swear had the best NFL nose over deep ball (to Carl Pickens often).

I don't think last years ( passing game ) offense fit Rivers skill set either.

Actually since I am a black man, I don't see why that would bother me.

This guy has potential and isn't highly recruited right now. It's a smart move by LSU. He's a guy who will likely sit in the program for 4-5 years because LSU has a problem keeping QBs that aren't guaranteed to start. Could end up as a boom or bust prospect. Gives us a shot at Lodge too. Worst case scenario is he's decent depth. Good pick up for us. I like it.

When asked why he committed on the spot

quote:

"Was there anything to think about?" McMillan said. "They have the best defense. They have the top wide receivers in the nation. LSU is a quarterback paradise."

Yeah in all my years following LSU recruiting here I don't believe I ever remembering seeing a recruit swear on his life to LSU

My favorite recruit of the class now!
