He already signed with WKU. This is an odd one. No chance WKU lets him out of it.

That's why the early signing period is a problem. I'm glad there isn't one for football.

Come on down and red shirt. No big deal. Telling a kid bit to go where his heart originally was (if not for his uncle) is just horrible.

I just don't get why a 5* would commit before the very last second of the last day, in basketball.

It's insane

It's not a problem. The only people that have a problem with it are 18-year-old divas who don't get two extra months in the spotlight to toy with coaches.

Nobody forced him to sign. He chose to sign.

Football needs an early signing period badly.

Kids get out of NLI's all the time. A few a year. Won't be an issue if he really wants out.

I don't understand why, but LSU has always lost out on top Louisiana prospects. Benoit Benjamin, John 'hotrod' Williams (not to be confused with John 'hotplate' Williams), Joe Dumars, Karl Malone. Ironically, all those guys would have been on the same team had they all went to LSU. Benny Anders, Orlando Woolridge....the list is massive and goes on and on and on. Really makes me sick to my stomach. But, concerning this guy, I don't think he quite understands what a LOI is and what it means. He's probably thinking it's the same as a financial aid agreement. Either way, it does kinda make him look a little on the ignorant side.

let's be honest... he is a lottery pick and one and done wherever he goes... I would want him to just concentrate on schoolwork and basketball with his immediate future decided... but he's the recruit, not me. he doesn't want to miss out on what he thinks he's missing out on.

he just played in the Corinth, MS Lighthouse Thanksgiving Classic where we went 0-2 by a total of 5 points to two solid Mississippi teams, but he showed out. he has uncommon handles for a 7 footer and can hit threes.

Coach Stockton is a veteran of HS and college coaching, and we have solid athletic staff whom would make sure he understands what he's getting himself into... more than likely it's cold feet.

LSU did not offer John "Hot Rod" Williams a scholarship but rather,an opportunity to walk on. That is the main reason he accepted a scholarship with Tulane.

I love when kids say "The university of..." even when that isn't the school's name

He probably wised up and saw what happens when a top 10 recruit chooses a non blue blood school. Ben Simmons, Malik Newman and Markelle Fultz are all good examples of what happens when top players go to unestablished and weak teams.

Ben Simmons did just fine. It's LSU and Johnny Jones that came out somewhat poorly.

If Robinson is a one and done, I'm not sure we need to go after him. Our forward and center line up is already looking very thin going into 2018. We need a solid big that will be around for 3-4 years in the 2017 class.

I'm not sure Mitch will be 1 and done. Kids about 210 right now and and extremely raw. If he wants to play center in the NBA he'll need to add at least 30 pounds to have any chance to survive. His offensive game is also very raw, he gets the vast majority of his points off putbacks and easy dunks. He's got freakish, Joel Embiid type potential but I don't see him being a lotto pick in 2018 right now.

Y'all are missing my point. You don't think Simmons would have been the #1 pick at Duke? The difference between him going to Duke and LSU is if he would have went to Duke they probably would have been playing in the for a national championship instead of not even making a tournament. Same thing for Fultz. These guys might as well go play international bball instead of wasting 7 months in school to play for nothing and not get and barely get an education.
