He's dreamed of being a fullback since he was 8? That's pretty awesome.

With TOPS in Louisiana, every high school student can afford LSU.. Has nothing to do with money

I don't know if you are just ignorant and spoiled or think that tuition + fees is the same as it was 10 years ago but TOPS does not cover all costs associated with going to college.

@JimmyDetail: Breaking: #LSU extends an offer to 2017 Catholic FB Ben Miles, son of Les Miles

Now wait for the Bama offer. Miles and Ben on an official to Bama would be something. How funny would that be?

I honestly would not be mad if him and Les took an official to Bama. That would be hilarious.

Hopefully, he is offering a scholarship to his son as respect for his ability. We can hope that when it is all said and done, he walks on and Miles pays for him to go to school. (assuming this poses no problems with the SEC office)

Well he's not even a verbal commit yet so tell him to pump the brakes.

frick you and the whiners about this move.

It's insulting to the kid that you think he isn't worthy of a scholarship because of his dad's position. He's clearly worked hard and earned the scholarship Some of you are acting like this is some sort of elaborate financial scandal to save the Miles money.

What parent with any average iq would advise their kid to go to LSU on their own dime, when he can enjoy the fruits of his labor with a free ride to schools just as good as LSU and frankly better academic institutions.

By some of posters' logic on here, LSU should ask KJ, Hornsby, and Robertson to relinquish their scholarship because their parents can pay for their college. The whole argument is totally irrational, and frankly I'm embarrassed as an LSU fan this has actually gotten some backlash. Pathetic.

It sounds like the kid can play and deserves an offer. If/when he commits, he will be quite valuable as a recruiter.

Overreact much? Nobody is saying that. Coaches use every advantage they can get to get as many good players as possible. Nobody is questioning his ability. If you can get 2 scholarship level players and only have to use 1 scholarship, of course you do it.

I think pretty much everyone posting assumes he deserved the offer; the Miles are too good of parents to subject their kid to criticism is he wasn't a good player.

We're just trying to figure out ways to have him not count against the 85 because thatbwould free up a spot for another good/great player.
