And finishes at 38. Are they planning to sign 36 next year? Slow start for Harbaugh

Les only signed 13 in his 1st class, the quality was much higher though.

Well, when you have sucky players they stay 4-5 years. He's got a long leash and is making bank in the meantime no matter what.

They had some highly rated classes under hoke.

They have a high number of returning players. And Hoke actually recruited pretty well.

Harbaugh doesn't have an empty cupboard.

He was hired on December 30 and they had a total of 6 commits then. He got 8 guys to sign with them in about a month.

Michigan was the ultimate dumpsterfire when they hired him. But there's no doubt that he's the right man for the job and will right the ship there IMO.

Give him more than a month before judging him. The 14 total commits is not on Harbaugh at all considering they had 6 when he was hired and only a month to recruit.

That's actually really good. Now they didn't get the TE Clark like I thought they would (still don't understand this dude's decision to go with UCLA over Michigan), but they went from 100 in the ranking to 38th and also got 8 guys in like a month of trying.

UM fans can correct me if I'm wrong, but they also don't oversign EVER. If they have 15 graduating seniors/juniors leave for the draft, they sign 15 kids. Nobody gets "processed"

1. UCLA is pretty good.
2. I am making this up, but its probably close:

When Clark visited Michigan it was -3 AND he didn't have long underwear packed for the trip.

When he visited UCLA, it was 74, and the cheerleaders were practicing in shorts.

That's because they didn't have scholarships to give

Harbaugh came on late, and he's doing the right thing by not giving scholarships for the sake of filling spots. Starting now he will be able to recruit 36 of the best players in the nation to fit his scheme. Its going to take at least two years to turn Michigam around. He will be a force to reckon with in 2016, as long as he doesn't get thrown out the house by recruits parents .

The small number of recruits is holding down the rankings. By average star ranking, I believe the class turned out to be top 25. Not bad at all for a man who had three weeks to work with.

Not even close to 25 in any poll sorry!

The point went right over your head.

But I am shocked that so many people thought a top 25 ranking was going to happen. Even if Mich got everyone they wanted today, it wouldn't have been top 25. Personally, I am fine with this small class. We flipped two four stars today that came out of nowhere (from FSU and Iowa). The average star ranking makes Michigan second in the big ten, and in top 30.

As it stands, Michigan is in the 35-45 range. Considering the dumpster fire 96th ranked class that was yesterday.... not too shabby.

The hysteria is driven largely by people who want to hate on Harbaugh.

nah, they sometimes get 26-27 commits like most all schools.
