I’m not dying on any hill. I’m just trying to learn more about the motive & what leads to a kid pulling a knife on a coach.

I was curious so I went back & searched his name on this site. There are at least 5 dedicated threads strictly about him; numerous people that claimed to have children play with him, some that just know him, another that has covered & interviewed him (Mr clean), and the worst thing said about him is that he had little to no desire to play college baseball.

So hey, I apologize if I’m asking questions you don’t like. What he did was wrong. I want to know more though.

Lol, you're not asking questions. You're saying explicitly that "coaches have failed him" and they should feel bad.

Les is normally a contrarian.

But what he seems to be saying here is that while a completely wrong and outsized reaction it was to pull a knife on a coach, it was still a reaction to something. And it may be worth considering what it was a reaction to.

That's not outrageous.

Coaches hold what is a parental responsibility, almost. They are tasked with creating and fostering a positive environment for growth, learning, and maturing. When something like this happens under your watch, it should be alarming. And yes, it should be considered that you have potentially failed that child. A responsible coach would not just chalk it up to a kid being 'crazy'. Something deeper is at the root.

Would you say that Skip failed Albert Bell? Sometimes a guy is a lost cause no matter what the coaches do for him.

"Under your watch"? You don't know much, if anything at all, about the environment in our school systems today. No teacher, coach, or school administrator has the responsibilities of a parent. There are 1000's of legal decisions covering just this issue. In today's sad world of education, no employee in the school system wants anything to do with sharing parental responsibilities. That's a very deep, dark rabbit's hole for any school employee.

Brother and Nephew are in the coaching business in Lake Charles...But not at Barbe...I inquired bout the Victorian situation and they both knew bout the latested issues...They laughed and stated Victorian is always having some sort of problems...Coaches talk and word gets around...And he will not be on Campus next year...Never was...

I’m sorry your job has jaded you that much, but you are wrong. Good coaches are invested in these kids way past just wins & losses.

That said, this wasn’t a school employee or coach at barbe.

You're full of shite and the narrative within your posts have changed.

While you may be trying to find out what happened (and I do grant that you said that in your first reply), you also placed blame on the coaches and condemned them for not providing a safe space.

So once again, frick off!

So how do you explain the hundreds of videos showing innocent people being sucker punched on streets, even in their cars? Is society somehow responsible? And I am far from jaded. I just talked to a ton of faculty members & more than a few coaches who are also teachers & this is type of act, knives included, happens way too often. One P.E. coach, a DL coach for the school's team, a good 6'5", 250 + lbs, in asking me what his responsibility was to himself in defending himself, said he's regularly confronted physically in the hallways & classrooms of his school .This kid, from several accounts here, thought this out & knowingly brought the knife to school for a specific reason. Give your speech here to an auditorium full of teachers / coaches/ administrators & you'd get laughed out of the room. But for a student to get expelled from school in today's world takes a very thorough, dragged out legal process, to the extent many teachers feel it's all a waste of time.

bullshite.

What you’re doing is essentially the same thing as when a woman is raped someone asking “well what was she wearing? How was she acting?”
