Coaches in general have failed him

You've made some idiotic posts, but this one gets the award for the most idiotic. I coached 35 years and never have I witnessed anything close to what he supposedly did.

An invested coach would feel like a complete failure if something like this happened under his watch. Whether he was provoked, or has a poor home life, or whatever the reason might be.

Yea, none of us have heard of a kid pulling a knife on a coach. That’s the point.

He pulled a fricking knife on a coach. Not a pocket knife but a fricking Rambo knife.

If so he brought this in a gym bag. So why did he do this. You could say premeditated. What happened before to make him bring this style knife. I want to know what happened days before this type knife was brought.

This just sounds very strange.

The coaches have been mentoring this kid since he got there. Working with him on a lot of small mistakes……they have done their part!

An important detail about this incident is how premeditated it was. It wasn’t an impulsive reaction to something. They planned a meeting the strength coach wasn’t going to attend (supposed to be working) and Victorian requested his attendance. He knew what he was doing…….

Kid needs prayers not excuses

Look, maybe he is a poor student and an a-hole, but sports should be his safe space.

Jesus, you’re just the worst. Let’s not blame the kid at all for supposedly pulling a psycho move, it’s obviously the coaches’ fault.

Safe space, get the frick outta here.

I’m not removing the blame for the kid. But you don’t randomly, all if a sudden, want to knife one of your coaches. Everyone is a failure in this situation. Kid, parent, & coaches. It’s a sad story

I’m assuming Barbe contracts out a local strength coach like other high schools? Interested to know who it was. Regardless, blaming coach is laughable

That’s not his “meal ticket” … The strength coach has a son that’s one of the top 2027 kids in the nation and committed to LSU smh

bro you really have no clue what you are talking about. like zero.

besides pretty sure it was all on film from what i was told.

landon is claiming bullying and all kinds of other this which is complete BS. kid has been back from football like less than 3 weeks. he is pissed cause they were riding his arse about grades, being late to everything, losing weight etc etc

not only that, shite was premediated as he told others he was going to do it.

watch its gonna all come out and you are going to feel like shite supporting the kid. he is suing everyone and everything trying to get something to stick

as far as the strength coach not being a cpsb employee...he is a volunteer that is well known strength coach in the community and the other coaches are there at same time. he has a kid on the team that is already committed to LSU. Was he hard on Landon...prolly because Landon has been frickign up left and right.

Of course he is. He was projected to be a mid-to-late first round draft pick. That's a signing bonus of anywhere from $2.5 million to $4 million. That's gone now.

I’m pretty sure I didn’t need my parents to let me know that pulling a knife on someone is wrong

I haven't said anything that will make me feel stupid later. I am not supporting him & don't condone criminal behavior.

Unless you are a stone cold psychopath, you don't just decide to bring a knife to school to go after a coach with. So my simple question is what triggered him to do so?

As a kid that has played two sports at Barbe, I have a hard time believing he all of a sudden had issue with tough coaching. Was this the first time he has been coached that way at Barbe? Why now?

Coaches invest time & love into these players. I guarantee they feel some sort of responsibility. A good coach would. This is a sad situation all the way around.

I can guarantee that no coach involved feels guilty. See how that works? And, no, a student doesn't have to be a "stone cold" anything for a student to act this way. As the risk manager for a large parish school system, I saw a lot of kids, males & females, who were dangerous to their peers & teachers / administrators. I guarantee that no one on those staffs felt guilty about these types of acts by their students.

Why would they feel responsibile for trying to get the kid to get his act together and having a knife pulled on them in return?
