These kinda transfers are coming to start not be in a competition. Most of them don’t have time to wait. Just gonna have to trust our staff to finally develop a QB that we recruited. Now if Brennan shits the bed in spring training maybe we look to bring someone in but I really think he’s ready.

It’s going to be real nice when Myles is given the full set of keys to the offense and he starts slinging the ball around all over the field. If the LSU offense needs to adjust somewhat to a more heavy offense that runs the ball a little more then that’s ok.

Myles is going to have tons of weapons at his disposal and a good OL. The guy has a full offseason with the starters and I’m sure already knows many of them. He will need to take the leadership position by storm but I think he’s prepared to do that. The kid has some polishing to do but as far as overall passing QB he’s every bit as good as Burrow even better in many areas.

If he can learn to move in the pocket while keeping his eyes downfield and not be afraid to take a hit while in there then he’ll be fine. One of the things that opened this LSU offense so damn much that you just didn’t see in the last much is throwing the ball over the middle. The coaches are going to HAVE to let Myles throw at all areas of the field. Trust this young man. Brady and Ensminger will be working their tails off to get him ready and I honestly believe he’s just about there and just needs to polish things.

I hope he has that workman’s attitude that Burrow has had. Make his teammates come practice offense on the weekends, challenge them to catch 10k + balls, create a good relationship between QB and WR, become the fearless leader who they trust, then prove it come game time. If he puts in the work and just continue his predecessors recipe for success then he will be more than fine. Go get em Myles B.

You’re gonna get a lot of downvotes from people that have probably never seen the guy play but I wouldn’t be against it. When he was last healthy for a full season in 2018 completed 65% of his passes was 2nd team all Pac 12 and had 30 TD’s. Big tall guy with a strong arm has great touch on the deep ball.
I agree, he's pretty damn good. Is a very good decision maker; seems to see the field 1 sec ahead of everybody else. The question is can he operate from the shotgun with that timing.

Have to throw this in: In my biased opinion the determining factor in next years QB success is going to be the center... if Cush goes to the NFL. I have faith in Cregg and Hines 57, but we're talking in this thread about unproven QBs. Despite my faith in those two, we will have an unproven center. Have to get the QB the ball 60 times a game without error.

Brennan, like so many others, is going to make a lot of posters eat their words next year. He's got it all physically, has earned his shot, and has had the luxury of learning from the Joe's. I'm excited for the kid and fully expect him to have an all conference type season.

has earned his shot

How?

To me, he'll only have earned his shot when he beats out the other QBs on the roster in the spring and summer. He's a prohibitive favorite to do this, but he does still have to actually win the job.

Brennen doesn’t have it from multiple inside the program people. The reason a grad transfer is an option

Costello is a statue in the pocket. SEC defenses like Alabama and Georgia have to be forced to guard against at least the threat of a run by the qb. Burrow got us out of more 3rd and longs than I can count this year by using his legs. Brennan, while not Lamar Jackson, has comparable mobility to Burrow. Costello would get eaten alive in those games.

Well tell your son to go else where. Lsu does not need that West coast kid at QB. Lsu has learned the Stanford tree easy from Terrance Alexander last year and the kid stunk it up.

So now we CAN take a graduate transfer? Can't we make up our mind on anything?

And neither does this Costello guy, the reason why want to transfer. Had bad success from grad transfer for Stanford. Lazy athletes

Let's give Brennan a chance with some 1 on 1 time this offseaon with Brady and see how this works first.

Gonna depend on how Justin Rogers looks. He's gonna walk on most likely in January. If he's healed up, not a lock from what I hear, then he gets first shot at challenging Brennan. He and the Freshmen can get through the spring. If another is needed then after spring we will shift towards that. Or bring someone in to compete during spring as well. I do think we need someone to push Brennan.

Even aside from the factual issue here, you could have said the same thing about Burrow.
