I cannot quote it because it is premium information but one of our signee's parents posted on TigerBait.com and noted that, paraphrasing, lots of parents of recruits read that site (and this one). They requested that posters think before posting and when idiots post ridiculous things, call them out. They read these sites to get a sense of the LSU community and where their son might spend his college years. They go on to note that message boards do play a part into the recruit's decision and that the infighting and bashing was a major turn off.

Yeah, somebody posted an article about Vander Blue, a 5* from Madison, WI, who was committed to Wisconsin. The Wisc boards were slamming him for whatever reason and he decommitted and signed with Marquette.

Which is a terrible idea. A message board gives you no sense of what a place is like. They should be avoided if anything.
Making college decision on real things like coaches, campus, academics that you actually experience in your 4 years > virtual things like a message board.
Which is why I either don't believe it or the people doing this are making terrible decisions.

Dont doubt it one bit.... however, all sites have morons like the ones we have on the rant. You have to realize that some people will just never get it. It sucks, but it is true.

I don't know about you, but if I'm a big time HS athlete, the last thing I'll care about is what a bunch fat dudes that probably never played football had to say about me. Yeah guys here bash some players but it's not like any poster would walk up to some player and tell him what he really thinks of him.

Why are you laughing?
Even if you think they are wrong for reading this stuff and letting it affect them, the fact is, some do.
As LSU fans, we all should be considerate in posting. It is a message board after all, so criticism will be made. But this offseason was really over-the-top. Hopefully we have a great 2010 season and people will go back to complaining about ticket prices and the like.

Amen! I have said before that I know a recruit who would check here all the time. Yall can say all yall want about yall talking shite about a recruit won't hurt us etc. Think about it, you are a 17 year old kid making the biggest decision of your life. The school you want to go to sounds great and you want to see how excited the fans would be to get you. When you check the websites, you see fans making fun of you, saying they don't want you and that you are overrated. On top of that you constantly get other people saying other negative stuff about our coaching. It will put this negative thought in your head about that school. Later when they are finally choosing which school, one of their memories about our school will have a negative feeling.

Dont know about you but, I know plenty of people who post on here and have played High level sports including myself...but yeah ther probably are alot of dumbasses on here also

It's a message board, who gives a crap what is said. Isn't this a place to say your opinions and get stuff off your chest?? If a parent of a kid says "I don't want to go there because their fans are mean." Give me a break, I don't want someone that soft anyway.
