The post was by a recruits PARENT. It wasn't the recruit. Would you at least acknowledge that a kid's momma may have some say in the decision? And at least acknowledge that a momma might get a little concerned if the main public message board for one of the son's leaders is a cesspool of negativity? I mean, c'mon. I'm not asking you to agree with the parent. But at least acknowledge what the freakin parent is saying.

I'm not surprised a parent is upset with a message board...they probably don't fully understand them and take everything personal. Viewing a message board is not a way to define a community.

"Concerned"? Sure.
If she lets it effect her stance, then she's poor at decision making IMO.
To think that this only happens at one college (and won't change by the time her son gets to and gets to the end of college, for that matter) is beyond asinine.

It just annoys the living shite out of me when some a-hole starts a thread like this one full well knowing that eventually the guy's name will come out, but being a pussy and not wanting to put it out himself, so he can cover his own arse with the admins. If you are so worried, then don't start the damn thread. If we are going to be able to guess who it is anyway, then just say who it is. Its fing retarded.
And personally, if a recruit or his parents get turned off because of a message board? Then head on down to Ole Miss. You don't have to worry about it there. You can just be second tier your whole life.

His intention wasn't to focus on who the recruit is, it's more about the broader issue of message boards.

No offense but the internet communities are completely different than what you get on gameday. Most of the people saying negative shite on here are:
1. Not LSU fans
2. Bandwagon fans
3. Internet nerds who can speak their voice without getting the shite kicked out of them
The people on here you meet in real life are completely different for the most part...especially on gameday. No parent should ever take what a message board says serious for a lot of reason. Its not a good representation of the fanbase and most people would never say the shite here in person. Worse yet, its hard to pickup on sarcasm, especially when we joke about recruits like Bates/Blackmon...
Its a entirely different world on a internet message board...that mom needs to read other message boards and she'll find its no different anywhere else...

If it annoys the living shite out of you, poney up the $9.95 and join the site so you can ascertain the identity of the recruit whose momma is posting and telling members of that site her view.
The point of my post is not to "out" the recruit. The point of my post was to let this board know what a recruit's mother is saying. There have been many on here denying that these boards have no influence. And now a parent is saying otherwise. I'm not trying to argue with you whether the parent is correct. I'm not trying to argue with you the degree to which a message board may influence people (for the record, I think it is minor). I'm just passing along the views of a signee's parent and asking people to consider it when they post.

Some Mamas may take a statement such as their child isn't the best recruit on the board as negativity.

Wow, you make an astounding accusation that a message board almost determined a recruits decision on what school he wanted to go to and then back it up with a whole lot of zippola.
You my friend should work with Olbermann. You would fit right in.
As of yet, I have never seen, regarding any recruit in any given year, for any given school across the nation, in football, basketball or baseball, any type of confirmation that a messageboard determined some kid's final school of choice.
So call me silly if you will. I just don't believe this happens but I am sure that this anonymous person on the Rant will tell me I am an idiot for not believing someone I don't know who is throwing out a crazy accusation without having the balls to even try to remotely back it up.

I did back it up. I told you the website it was on and the thread on which it was in. What do you want me to do? I can't link to paid subscription sites and even if I did, you would not be able to read it if you didn't have a paid subscription.
