yes, Patterson will help with mykel jones but that's about it. look at kyler murray, he couldn't deliver lodge (wr) or Jefferson (defense).
Patterson is closer to a sure thing.
franks is closer to Winston (fsu),
you can't go wrong with either but you don't dump one for the other.

We have the best WR class already? Please explain....cause I'm 100% we don't. See some of y'all like to put all your eggs in one basket....what if franks decides he'd rather have an MLB check instead of LSU? Or throws his arm out in baseball and is done or has to have surgery? Then we don't have Patterson or franks an everyone will be mad that the staff didn't get Patterson. Perhaps Patterson goes to ole miss...may not hurt us right away but eventually it might come back to bite us. Dak Prescott for instance....developed into a heck of a QB an beat us. What if Patterson goes to ole miss and ends up winning and takes them to NC....every fan on here would be pissed. As for Harris I hope he does step up but what if he doesn't? What if he never becomes what we all want him to be? Some of y'all are so close minded and you think everything will work out the way we want it but shite happens....and FYI franks is a 4* and Patterson is a 5*. If LSU misses on Patterson they won't have the #1 class in 2016 an you can quote me on that and remember it this time next year. Don't get me wrong I want franks at LSU but some people are blowing off Patterson like it's not a big deal if we get him or not and it's actually a very big deal!

Great post. Berlin is exactly who Patterson reminds me of. Better athlete though.
He is also similar to Murray. Comparable athletic ability as well. Great call by the poster who said Murray.
Franks has more upside, Patterson is safer and has a low floor. I'm a guy that has always preferred the low floor(the old Landry/George Farmer debate and the Quinn debates last year) and would in this case if Franks weren't already committed. Fact is, Franks is committed and you don't pish him out on the hopes of landing Patterson. That's bad business and just stupid. Go about it the way we are and try to bring in both but keep sight if the fact that if Patterson goes elsewhere(he will) that we have Franks in. Say we push out Franks to go all out for Patterson and then his brother bolts and Patterson follows, what do we do then? Its entirely possible and dare I say probable. We don't have a position coach spot available for his brother and there's no guarantee we will or that he'd take it. He's not tied to us. He came to get tutoring from Can and is getting that. He can take that with him wherever he ends up.

I'm not saying push out franks....if he is all LSU like some people think then he shouldn't mind. Kids have to understand we can't put all our stock into a high school player who may or may not pan out. We have seen it so many times before. We have to have options. Keep franks and make him feel special but pursue Patterson as well.

We are the only school that has 2 WR commits in the Top 10(Anderson& Sullivan), that qualifies as the best WR class So Far in the nation. What if franks throws his arm out? Lol okay injuries happen, everyone here wants to pursue patterson but hes not a "make or break" commit simply because we have a top QB already committed. If we didnt, everything would change. Precott was a 3* not recruited at QB doesn't count. I can see Shea leaving and it hurting us but if his bro goes & he follows nothing we can do about that. Its not like he would have left our borders and we were left without a TOP QB Commit.
Keeping Franks along with getting 12 of the top 15 LA prospects & couple TX safties would easily put us in running for #1 class.
