Any news on if Coach Wade has gotten in contact with Javonte from Scotlandville yet?

Even though it hasn't been reported in media outlets, I'm sure he has at least reached out to him at this point and made some contact. It doesn't take much effort to make a phone call or two.

Apparently the rumored Shyrone Chatman hire is for this specific purpose.

It would seem logical that JS would want to be at LSU, for proximics and opportunity for folks to watch him play on a regular basis.......but time will tell.

Not everything is exactly logical, relationships of recruiting are paramount....

I would not want any compromise of the "building project", by any means...........we will get our share, just you watch and wait.

It's hard to imagine anyone WANTING their child to leave. There is a difference between being ok if your child leaves, and wanting them to leave

I was only referring to the part about his mom wanting him to go out of state. I know for a fact, that's not true.

Disagree. Will Wade needs to be that guy. There isn't enough concentrated talent in the state. It isn't like football where 1-2 schools will always have a few prospects and you have to have inroads. These coaches in the state will give you a shot if you're willing to show face and winning.

I, as a huge Louisiana Prep Basketball supporter and believer that recruiting the state will keep you right around the top 25 before adding outside talent, don't believe you need to have a Louisiana guy in place in this sport. Just believe the head coach has to show face in state more than out to get coaches believing. Assistants in this state can only do so much.

I understand your opinion concerning in-state talent in Louisiana and I agree that most years the state only produces enough talent to be around a top 25 team. But, there will be those years (maybe every 4 or 5 years) when Louisiana will produce the kind of talent to take a team to the final four and possibly win it all. The problem is getting these players to go to LSU. Early 80's, Louisiana produced Benoit Benjamin, Karl Malone, John (hot rod, not hot plate) Williams and Joe Dumars all within a 2 year window. Karl Malone and Benoit were class of 82 and Williams and Dumars class of 81. I mean, that's a pretty good starting line-up for anybody. For one reason or another none attended LSU. Just saying there are those years when Louisiana will produce players who could make a team a top 5 team and possibly make the final four.
