Some have compared the Jalen Collins situation to the Janzen Jackson recruitment, and while it has similarities, it's really not the same.

Yes, both were relatively unheard of early in the season. Both are tall, speedy CB with cover skills. Both were early LSU commitments. Both made significant jumps in the CB rankings/ratings later in the year. Both stated just a couple of days before signing day that they were firm to LSU. But that's where the comparisons end.

The big difference between them is Janzen Jackson took visits to Bama & Tenn in the final two weeks before Signing Day.

Jalen Collins, on the other hand, has visited no other schools except for LSU, and was actually just here for an official visit this past weekend, when he stated he was happy with his decision & is anxious for the waiting to finally end.

So no need to worry about this one.

Don't see how he could switch getting coached under one of the best DB coaches in CFB and seeing PP is going to be a top 10 pick. Claiborne will likely fall in the first-second round too when he leaves...

NO.
Ole Miss Spirit Recruiting Mgr Yancy Porter stated in a interview that Scout had confused Jalen Collins situation with that of Jermaine Whitehead of Ole Miss (who is down to Ole Miss & Auburn).

Collins to LSU.

Cant agree with you on that one Freek. Janzen was a well known commodity early on in the season and worked his way up into the top 50 at the end of the year.

last year collins said and done exactly what freek an collins said

quote:

," Collins told the Times-Picayune. "I like the style of defense they play, aggressive. That's how I play. I like LSU a lot. I have no plans to visit other schools."
