As Lawrence, love the guy but unless he plays better than he ever has I don't see it.

I'm not gonna go all in to this but man.. Rashard Lawrence is a monster. People expecting a 3-4 DE to get 10 sacks a year just dont understand the position. Hes awesome at disrupting plays in the backfield. The pass rushing is getting there. Not everyone is JJ Watt though.

If you’ll notice he said “childhood”

That certainly stood out to me... could be worse, but not the best way to frame it.

I dont expect 10 sacks, dont care if he has none. Im talking consistent pressure. Lawrence has never been that guy. Hes got the talent it just hasnt shown up consistently. Even pro scouts, while loving his potential, question his impact. Again i love the guy as the player he is. Just want to see the player he should be.

Never said Bama found some genius concept. Give up the rhetoric. Was just using the change in philosophy they made as an example. Even inferred maybe Aranda liked the bigger guys for his scheme. Just said id like to see a couple natural DE body types brought in and developed into 300 lb, athletic, natural rush guys. There are plenty of these types of kids ouy there. Even kids like Byron Young, Jaren Handy and Charles Moore fit the mold in most ways. Moores a virtual epitome.

Is no change in philosophy. The philosphy is and has always been to get some combo of the biggest fastest strongest most athletic DEs we can get. Or in other words, the best DE's we can get. Same recruiting philosophy as every other position and every other team in the country. We didnt go after Chassion because he is small, we recruited him because he is fast strong athletic and is a good player. If he was also 280lbs it would be a bonus. We basically go after the same players Bama does, it is just that they have been better at landing them. Has nothing to do with some imaginery recruiting philosophy you dreamed up.
