Robert Parish and Benoit Benjamin were pretty fair HS products out of Louisiana. As was Hot Rod Williams.

High School means nothing- Some talent that played H.S. in La & developed afterward- Bill Russell, Karl Malone & Elvin Hayes- sad that none played for LSU...but you won't find more talented players!

Benoit Benjamin people thought was the next decade defining center. 7 foot; extremely athletic; long; agile; etc... My dad said he went and watched Carrol play Ouachita back when Don Redden was a senior along with Benoit at Carrol High School and how Dale Brown, Dean Smith, etc.. were in attendance. He went to Creighton because his Moms was well connected with Lonnie Cooper who was ab assistant or some other on their staff.

Tweety Carter (He is still the highest scoring high school basketball player in U.S. history),

And he's still not better than DJ.

Robert Parish - one of the most unselfish superstar players I've ever seen in a basketball uniform. Saw him go up against a top-10 University of Houston line-up that had 4 players over 6'9" back in 1972, including three 7-footers and an AA point guard at 6'9".

Parish scored 31 points, 28 rebounds, 17 blocked shots - the next tallest player for Centenary was 6'8". Greatest college game I've ever seen from a big man! He may have not won multiple LA POY awards, but he should have - he was that unselfish of a player - nobody came close to his greatness as an intimidating defensive and unstoppable offensive player.
