Take Gibson and hope that Patterson isn't afraid of competition. Personally, I think we should be heavily working on #5 pro style Dwayne Haskins (Toliver's cousin) as well, because he wants to commit in the Spring.

He's a lot better of a WR now than Shepard ever was at LSU. After two years and if he doesn't beat out Franks, you have a 6'4 200lb WR with 4.4 speed (dude ran track if I'm not mistaken).

I would take a bird in the hand, Gibson is here and now. If Patterson doesn't want any competition then maybe he isn't the quarterback we need.

Why would it even be a consideration for Patterson? If our QB situation gives him trepidation, just think what any other schools would do. Maybe he would be better off at Nichols or SLU.

If u you had the chance to get Gibson today you take him you never know what will happen with a recruit in a year

I have no problems with Patterson. I would love to have him. However, the more I hear his name on this board like he's the second coming of Peyton Manning, the more I wish he'd take up rugby and move to England.

I don't see how Gibson will play within the next 2 seasons for LSU so I'm fine with whatever we end up with in 2016. Also, Lowell Narcisse in 2017 if we want a Gibson type qb.

Shea may be the best Qb to come out of LA HS since Peyton and Bradshaw. He has that potential. You do NOTHING to jeopardize acquiring him to our roster.

so if he is all that, then how in the hell would a QB like Gibson (or anyone else for that matter) jeopardize his recruitment? This is a really stupid thread.
