Hypothetical about Gibson and Patterson

Totally hypothetical, but if you knew for a fact Patterson would not come here next year if Gibson signs, would you
A) Take Gibson and basically be out of the Patterson race
B) Not take Gibson and MAYBE get Patterson
Considering Franks seems solid, I would take Gibson and call it a day. One in the hand, two in the bush, all that jazz.
Just curious to see how good some of you think Patterson is.

I don't have a clue and neither will anyone on here. That is a decision that must be made after taking into account a lot of factors that I don't have access to.

I really want Patterson and Franks next year. However, not bringing in Gibson and missing on Patterson as well would suck bad IMO.
Take Gibson and if Patterson doesn't want in, have Franks and be happy. If Patterson does want in, then let the battles begin.

All day, has Patterson ever taken a snap under center ? I think Cavalry throws every down but maybe im wrong.

Listening to a piece that Jimmy did on Moscna's show, saying none of his coaches, or Torrance, know where he's headed (50/50 OSU or LSU), but did mention that he does loose focus at times. I heard some people comparing him to RS10, and maybe not, but I'm personally not counting on Gibson as a future QB option.

B I dont see Gibson starting over Harris in his Junior year, then I think Franks/Shea will be the starter by their Sophomore year.
You take Gibson regardless though because there's a lot of things you can do with a raw athlete like that.

Maybe so, but I'd hate to pass on his type of athleticism. If he's compared to Shepard, fine by me. I'd love to have another Russell Shepard on this team.

I'd like that potential, yes, but I'd love to see a LOT more production from Gibson than we saw from Shepard. We just kept waiting for it to happen with him. Or some people did.

I would not hold the program hostage to Patterson. Nobody knows whether he will pan out or not - probably will but not a guaranteed thing.
Frankly, I take who I can get now each and every year.
Also it is really sickening to see folks prostrate themselves to a 18 year old kid.

Take Gibson and Patterson will come to compete if he can't handle that then do you really want him? I am happy with Franks.

He will only play QB as of now. It's another Terrelle Pryor situation except that Meyer runs a read option spread as opposed to the pro style that Tressel ran.
He does NOT want to play WR and received assurances from Ohio State (and I would assume LSU if he's seriously considering them) that he'd play QB.
