How desperate are we to get a LB in this class?

We have zero commitments that we know of for 2015. I'm a little worried about depth if Garrett or Alexander can't step up.

Does Louisiana have good LBs in 2016?

LB recruiting will pick up. A lot. That was Chavis position and Haley did his best to get kids. Chavis didn't help out and this is where we are at.

Steele is a recruiting machine though, so we shall see a much improved board for 2016.

ANd don't forget Lewis this year.

This is something I never understood about Chavis. He was always touted as a LB guru, but other than the one year when we brought in 4-5 LBs, we always seemed weak at the position from a talent standpoint, and he was clearly not a big draw. I hope you're right and things get better.

When we get Leo Lewis everything will be fine. And I'm sure you won't have to worry about Beckwith or Garrett not stepping up, those guys are ballers. If there's anyone with a question mark next to their name it's debo. Either way we'll be fine

Agree. It would hurt to not have at least one top notch LB in this class.

Are you guys aware of any lower tier LBs in Louisiana for 2015 that would get a scholly if we have room on signing day? Maybe they are not blue-chippers, but they could still help on special teams and fill out a 2-3 deep depth chart.

I think it is a must. We have zero currently for this class, and added only two last season. So 2 yrs from now what will we have? This has been a big whiff, and we need to fix it. Lewis will help no doubt, but next year we need 4-5 and I hope some can contribute early. Beckwith might be a goner, and the SR's will move on.

currently two deep at each position. even with Key committing last night, imo DE still greater concern than LB. but not by much.

Beckwith
Garrett
Feist
Lamar Louis
Debo
Riley

Correct on the depth this year but take off the SRS and then tell me LB isn't a bigger need. None of our DEs next year are leaving unless by transfer. Schools recruit a year ahead in most cases. It has changed some because freshmen play a lot more now but coaches would still prefer to have kids starting that have been in the system more than a couple of months. The great majority of the kids in this class are being brought in for 16-17 seasons not for 15.

I think one of the Dbs bulked up a bit and will be playing OLB that should help a little with depth.
