Also Hill is who asked Hilliard and Magee to commit

This is one of the things I don't understand. Hill was the first player to committ to LSU in this class, and he asked other RBs to committ as well, which leads me to believe he is not afraid of competition. Unless Hill commits again to LSU at some point, I gotta believe something ain't right with his recruitment.

uh, what?

Our offense traditionally always centers around a great rushing attack with a feature back, occasionally two feature backs.

Auburn's
5 Dyer, Michael RB 5-9 215 Fr (HS) Little Rock, AR (Little Rock Christian Academy)

27 Fannin, Mario RB 5-11 227 Sr (3V) Hampton, GA (Lovejoy HS)

45 Hooper, Davis RB 6-0 207 Jr (2V) Montgomery, AL (Trinity Presbyterian HS)

44 Lymon, Patrick RB 5-10 176 Fr (HS) Harvest, AL (Sparkman HS)

23 McCalebb, Onterio RB 5-10 165 So (1V) Fort Meade, FL (Hargrave Millitary Academy)

32 Smith, Eric RB 5-10 239 So (1V) Seffner, FL (Armwood HS)

And there are about 10 more players that have RB potential as athletes not listed at any positions.

So I see no way you think he is already #3 at either, DEFINITELY not at Ala! And the 2 in front of him at AU will get ALL of the touches, period!

(1) Hooper and Lymon are walk-ons - they won't see the field, ever.

(2) E. Smith is an H-back. In our offense, that means he is essentially a TE who lines up in the slot, but occasionally splits out or lines up as a FB. He'll catch some passes but he won't get more than ten carries on the year, barring massive injuries.

(3) McCalebb is tiny - like 5'7" 160 lbs tiny. He's not a particularly good receiver or blocker either. But he's quick as lightning so we use him as a "change of pace" back or a gimmick player on querky plays. He can't handle a split load, much less a full load. He'll get 8-10 touches a game maybe.

(3) Fannin is a senior and will be gone next year. If I had to guess, I would say Auburn is recruiting Hill to be Fannin's replacement in our offense. They have a comparable skill set. Fannin had a respectable career at AU - 1400 yards rushing, 1000 yards receiving, 1000 yards returning kicks. And those numbers would have been even better had he not had major fumble problems.

Auburn can honestly sell this guy on playing time in an explosive offense. Now cue the comments about the impending death penalty, the bolting of Malzahn and the reversion to 5-7 without Cam...

since when does Aubrun's offense need a back like that?

Since we most likely won't have Cam and we'll have to have a RB be able to carry the ball 25 +/- times a game next year.

We ran the ball about 70% of the time this year. That was largely in part due to the fact that we could with Cam, and we'll probably throw the ball a little more next year, but Malzahn strives for 50/50 on offense, but we'll still need an every down back that can stand up to the beating of an SEC schedule. McCallebb definitely can't do that at this point. Dyer is the only true RB we have on the roster that can handle that.

Then why come to Alabama? Auburn of all places. Sheesh. This place is awful. It doesn't have anything better than Louisiana and it is missing a whole lot that Louisiana has. Unless "getting out of LA" just means that she wants money, then I don't see why she'd come to Alabama, especially Auburn.

I'm making as assumption here, but something tells me that you and Hill's mother are quite possibly very different and you get joy from different things in life. Some people like bright lights, big city, and some people prefer a quiet life in a small town.

Just an assumption...

OR she is just looking for a ticket out of LA and away from his father and is using her son as a means to do so.

it's things like this that make me assume you have a few more answers than the rest of us. Care to elaborate? Or is this confidential like the Voldemort issue and can only be described via email?

Its kind of like buyers remorse. This is a big commitment that is about putting himself in the best position to play early and often.

Its not about choosing your childhood favorite team. You hope they are one in the same, but it does not always work out that way.

Bama I follow because one of my closest friends is from Mobile. I know they have Trent and Lacy next year assuming Ingram goes pro. After that, no one. They are not high on anyone else and are hard after Hart (Mich Commit), Hill, and #1 target Crowell (UGA or Bama).

After Richardson and Lacy, assuming that Ingram does leave early, Alabama still has Corey Grant, Jalston Fowler (who Saban is high on), and Demetrius Goode (when he's healthy). I had given up hope on Hill, and thought Alabama was focusing on Dee Hart and Isaiah Crowell.

Is this what makes you compare him to the Janzen Jackson situation...cause I still don't see him as doing anything wrong if so.

Well what is he doing?

I understand you may not be able to go into all of the details. Is he leading LSU on and lying to the coaches? Is something else going on?

he seems to be keeping his AU commitment quiet to deceive another recruit into signing with them. Like Jackson did to Darren Myles.
