Ricardo washington graduated in 89 he was the number 1 ath in country .

The hardest thing with Ricardo was deciding where to put him. He was actually listed as a Safety iirc. 6'4 220, and ran a 4.5. Curly put him at LB.

Ended up starting 2 years at La Tech. Like I said, going strictly on high school, he was as highly decorated as Bradie.

McConathy and B James were 5*. AMc was La Mr. Football and both were La D players of the year, as well as Parade All-Americans.

Tyrone Malone was suppose to be the next big thing, musta been a complete flop

Don't forget about my boy Mike Calais. A bad arse MLB on some really shitty LSU teams. He ended up quitting the team his senior year because of injuries.

Yep, was gonna mention Calais. Injuries got him, he looked like a real middle linebacker too.

Nope. Michael Brooks, Toby Caston and Marc Ippolito were big time Blue Chip LB's. Poster is correct on Washington, Malone and Swan as wel
In the old days there were blue chips and the next tier down were the red chips of Max Emfinger and Joe Terranova. Then came the addition of gold chips, the counterparts to the 5 stars of today. But we cannot talk about the old days and LSU linebackers without mentioning the span from 1969 to 1973 when the Tigers produced 3 All American LB's: George Bevan, Mike Anderson, and Warren Capone. Then came Albert Richardson in 1982.

ricky chapman, rydell melancon - early 1980's. I don't think stars were used for rankings.

I measure all LB's by Michael Brooks. He was a beast back in the day.
